Can't wait to see what the fix is.
Couple of NHTSA complaints of problem persisting POST recall and things will get interesting.

They have to get this right 100% and not half a$$ it.

Said it before. Initial fix was to upgrade to 2024 g2.2 software. That was then deemed ineffective.

Went in to my local dealer for the wiper motor and he said Ford might just replace the camera rather than a software fix. The 25's have a different camera so we may get it.
My understanding based on prior comments on this forum is the backup camera issue is limited to Mavs with Sync 2. That is 22-24 XL, XLT and 22 Lariats without the lux pkg. 23 Lariats all came with the lux pkg and Sync 3 so are not affected.

All trims in 2025 models get Sync 4. You cannot swap in a 2025 camera to solve the problem. It is a Sync 2 software issue. The hold on 2025's has to do with quality control, not the camera.

[I hope I stated this correctly. If others feel my summary is incorrect, let me know and I will delete it.]

What’s up with the back up camera repair?
I heard a rumor that there’s a class action lawsuit against Ford for the back up camera problems and delays in releasing the Mavericks.
Does anyone know where I can sign up for that?
I would think that a big company like Ford would have some good IT guys that could fix it quickly. What up Ford?
What is the issue? Ours has been fine for 2 years.

As I have posted on the "Other" Camera threads...
One "three-second" issue in two years..

I haven't heard anything about a class action lawsuit, but you'd have to have experienced some qualified legal "injury" to join the class, if there is one. If your truck hasn't been delayed and you haven't had an accident tied to the camera, it doesn't seem you'd qualify.
If there's a hold on a vehicle you're trying to sell or trade in, that's an injury.

By that logic people who ordered a '22 that got delayed outside of when the car market was super hot could sue. Not being able to buy exactly what you want exactly when you want isn't an injury.

We all bought major software packages called ā€œFord Maverick.ā€ If you have programmed complex software, you know just what you were buying. If you have never programmed, you’re about to get schooled.

Imagine you’re playing chess. There are about 10 to the 40th power games that could occur. A glitch occurs in a game around 10 to the 15th power, and a chess piece disappears. This creates a disaster.

That’s how writing complicated software programs work. One writes the code knowing that it is impossible to guarantee that the code will work. Always. In every case. No matter what thousands upon thousands of users do with it.

Can’t do it.

My ā€˜74 Jeep had no software problems. There wasn’t any software. My ā€˜24 Maverick seems to be nothing but software.

This ā€œFord Maverickā€ is going to fail. And fail again. And fail again. Sometimes due to the mechanics of the thing. But with its heavy reliance on software, this little camera issue is just one of the many issues we all will face.

I like my software package called ā€œFord Maverick.ā€ I am surprised the thing works so well.

Not being able to sell your vehicle when you want to was my point. You own it; you should be able to sell it, or trade it in, or use it as collateral for a loan.

You can sell your vehicle whenever you want. Being able to buy exactly what you want as a replacement isn't a mandate. You can buy a Lariat right now. You can buy another vehicle right now.
