Intelligent oil life monitor system wonky..

I have a 2023 Maverick Hybrid....I gave 8756 miles on the vehicle and had the oil changed at 5000 miles just because..I wanted to. Now, the IOLMS says my oil life is at %22 percent. I drive normally, do not speed or tow and most miles in town. I would call my driving "light duty" on the vehicle. Why, with only 3,356 miles after the first oil change is system saying oil life is at that low percentage. The oil looks pretty clean,, light color with a tinge of brown...WTF is with this Intelligent monitor system?

It is based on time and mileage. If it has been 9 months since your oil change, it would/should read 25% oil life even if you only drove 1000 miles in that time. If you drive 10,000 miles in 5 months, it would have 0% oil life left at 5 months. 1 year or 10,000 miles is a rough estimate of what to expect.

The OLM even tells you to how reset it with the OK button. Otherwise, the truck won't know the oil was changed.

I reset the reminder but pay no attention to it.
Just go by the mileage. No more than 5k, 6 if you have to. Please don't go 10k. All your doing is asking for trouble. This is of course you're running a full synthetic. No need to make it more complicated.
