Strictly stock for me, except a few useful items:. Tonneau cover, mudflaps, tint front door windows, tailgate strut.

But to each his own. That's the beauty of living in the USA!

Not sure how much of a collector the Maverick will be. Take Jeep as an example my father has an all original 1985 Jeep Wrangler and he would be lucky to get 8K. If modified it such as 35”s suspension, lift kit, upgrade axels, seems to drive up the cost To 4x, 5x, or more. I myself had a 66 Bronco all original with 48k miles, uncut, no rust, and itis worth quit a bit. It is still not worth what they are getting out of the modified rigs.

i sure wish I had that one back🤔

I believe that $5 a gallon gas will be the norm sooner than later. When that day comes I want to be driving 40 miles for $5, not 25-26-27 miles for $5.
Totally agree! That's what attracted me to the Maverick Hybrid. We'll trend to higher gas prices in the future. Just more global demand for fossil fuels as more folks return to work here and developing countries add more vehicles.

I will add a few functional things like bed tie downs and a ARE bed cover for trips.

I will not make any mechanical changes or ricer mods that make a lot of noise and nothing else.

The keys to keeping mileage up is keeping weight down, the engine in proper tune and not disrupting the aero package.

From what I heard the Hybrid is like 40 mpg city, like 33 mpg Hwy, is that correct? The 2.0L can get up to 31 MPG hwy from what some have said. I do more hwy driving than city and I live like 15 minutes from work. So that's not such a big deal. Road trips out of state or long distance driving is where I'll feel the bite. But the ecoboost won't be too much worse than my Escape I have now. I get about 32-33 mpg hwy with that.

I agree about the $5 gas. I was just telling someone that we will probably see $5 gas by spring. We will probably see the highest gas prices ever in the US.

Yep! Running mine stock. Will trade it in after a year or two. Primary mileage is work reimbursed currently at $0.565/mile. I typically average 35K/year for work miles.

I'm OK with accessories, window tint, and things like that but I sure wouldn't do anything like messing with the suspension or tuning the engine that could possibly void the warranty.

I never change anything on any new vehicle misty because I just feed them road, except my Harley. That has lots of money in the suspension because factory was junk.

Not doing anything drastic with mine. I have the Truxedo Soft Roll up Cover for it, K&N Air Filter, RocBlokz Mud Guards, changing out the stock CHMSL to a Smoked LED, changing the back up lights to LED, getting the Smoked Bug Guard for the hood, the Tailgate Assist, the Maverick Logo Sun Screen, the Black Platinum Maverick Lettering for the Tailgate, and the Stainless Steel Door Sill Emblems. Also going to do Adams Polishes Graphene Ceramic Coating to it first thing as I will be getting it in the middle of the winter. Just some small Mods to make it my own.

Never say never to upgrades (modifications).

Are you going to say no to future performance upgrades...like
Upgrades to the HV battery that will weigh much less, hold a lot more power and charge much quicker.
New software (our CMax had 3) (y)

That's not happening tank after tank. There is no magic in the 3600lb 2.0T 8sp box shaped Maverick that has it getting better than sedan MPGs all the time. Unless owners drive 55-60mph non stop year round they will all settle around 25-30mpg per tank while the hybrids will see around 8-10 mpg more on average with the exact same commute.

There are hypermiling tricks that can be done with hybrids that cannot be replicated with standard gas vehicles to widen the gap even more if the driver is up for it. A simple one is controlling when the vehicle regens versus coasting by placing light pressure on the throttle pedal, just enough to disable regen and not enough to cause acceleration.

Stock XLT wheels for my XL truck, is that really a mod? It will be the first time I changed anything on a vehicle.

Mostyly agreed. I'll add the spray bedliner and mudflaps I dropped to avoid more pushouts (they are still in the car budget), and may get a retractible rollup tonneau. But I bought the Lariat for the hybrid, and hybrid it will stay. I work in supply chain, by the way, and the very best observations amongst hundreds on this website are the ones that have advocated to wait and be patient. The media focus has been mostly on electronics, which is unfortunate. Pretty much everything, from toilet paper to anything, is going to pinch in 2022. Rather than fault Ford alone for your car, you might better direct your ire at any large multi-national that has been shifting US manufacturing off shore for the last 30 plus years - and vote accordingly. Leave the dealers alone - they are just franchisees, and with the exception of outliers like Tim at Long MacArthur, they were bitten by the same lack of reliable info from Ford that we (us?) customers were. Tim knows how to ferret out the info we want, and most dealers simply don't have that skillset. You CAN fault Ford for extraordinarily bad messaging.
So, it'll happen when it happens. Ford said by Fall 2021, and left plenty of escape options for itself, so be patient. Fall doesn't end till late December.
Now if the AWD hybrid ever pops up, that I would look at.
Be well, all.
