The "277 lb/ft" feels great with this truck. Horsepower is always great but is torque is wonderful.
A $600 COBB Accessport will take torque over 300 ft lbs. with very easy installation via the OBD portal. 😳

The hybrid ENGINE has less torque than the EcoBoost.

However, Peak combined torque of engine plus electric motor at the same time is 267 lb-ft. Plenty to get a trailer rolling or spin the tires if you try.

(in the 2022-2024 FWD Hybrid)

I believe the horsepower dropped on the 2025 Ecoboost to 237 as you stated. 250 from 2022-2024.
Yes that’s correct … not sure why the 2025 was detuned a bit.

My seat of pants feel was that the hybrid XLT that I drove was much less "fun to drive" in terms of response to pedal input...enough so that I went with the Ecoboost....

It felt lighter on its feet.

...I'm leaning towards a 2025 hybrid AWD. I know it won't have the power of the 2.0...
About ½ second difference, 0-60.

I have never found my Hybrid to be lacking for power, when accelerating quickly on a freeway on-ramp, or passing someone on a 2-lane.
No stupid stop/start shenanigans when a red light turns green, or cold weather schizo transmission gear shifts, because it doesn't have to shift - it just goes.

Hello everyone-

Recently I bought a used 2022 Hybrid and have fallen in love with the nimble, fun and function of what Ford created …

The Maverick is a unique vehicle that combines a lot of seemingly opposing attributes into a nicely balanced ride … it’s small but has great cabin space; it’s not pricey but also has a nice interior feel; it’s fuel efficient but is still zippy; it’s handling is sporty, but it’s an excellent road-tripper.

So my question to the group, is how much sporty handling am I sacrificing by having FWD and a 60 fewer HP with the hybrid vs the 2.0 ecoboost? It might be worth trading for a 2024 with the 2.0 Ecoboost?

Love to hear anyone’s input… thanks in advance for your
Hi, I bought a 2023 AWD Ecoboost and couldn’t be happier with it.it’s a blast to drive. When I need it to it accelerates smoothly like a sports car. In fact I call it an SUT, Sport Utility Truck! While it won’t ever get the mileage that the Hybrid gets, it's still economical compared to the bigger trucks yet it’s still practical. I’m very happy with it.

Thanks … I am getting some wheel slip on wet pavement with the FWD hybrid. Concerned about traction in winter weather. Also looked at the COBB tune torque and HP improvement and it’s significant. Hmmm….
I was going to say change the tires, but I see you already upgraded to the Falken Wildpeaks. If you're still not getting sufficient traction, AWD is the way to go.

Here I went from ecoboost to hybrid.

I had a tremor so definitely an efficiency thing. Also I filled my ecoboost with 93 so I was actually getting all 250 hp as opposed to the 225 or so with 87.

Ultimately for me the efficiency, cost to own, longevity of drivetrain, and the increased towing capability over tremor made it a no brainer for me.

but the EB is really strong and both are fine choices.
