So, my tremor is currently a couple miles away from Mexico getting fixed at a ford dealership after I got a little too eager on the sand dunes in Glamis. So I want to start by I am well aware this truck is not made for that. We also brought a can am x3 so I didn’t go out there just for the tremor. Also would like to point out that the tremor is a secondary vehicle (daily is a Mach e GT) so I probably wouldn’t be driving it the way I was if it was my daily.

Anyways, I hit a probably 20 ft tall bank going about 30 mph and I hit it perfectly. I got a little exited and I hit another one about the same size going maybe 35. Well I ended up oversteering and hiring a hardened 2 foot tall sand bank on the passenger side while turning in the same direction. Truck jumped about a 2 feet off the ground and then wouldn’t move after words.

After about a week at the dealership the diagnosis is: broken rack and pinion, both tie rods snapped, at least 1 cv axle probably two and 3 ruined tires.

truck should be up and running in about a week and 4k dollars later. But in that price I will also be getting 4 Toyo open country at3 245/70r17 and a leveling kit with the repairs.

P.s. I’m well aware how stupid it was to be driving like that in a mavirick

Looks like the tow hooks were useful, at least. :cool:

It's often difficult to know exactly where the limit is until you've passed it. Good luck with the rebuild.

I use my Tremor in the sand a lot but not to that extent. You were having to much fun. But now a least you know your trucks limitations.

This was mine out at armagossa valley when i went to help out at vegas to reno off road race .known as big dune .good luck on rebuild , get old parts if you can i would come and get info from you so i can enforce the rack to make this better for us all.Are you in san diego area?

these are the new arms ive been testing .along with a 4” lift complete subframe/steering lift.

How are you liking the Gr40 suspension? I’m close to pulling the trigger on it, now would be the time as well, but I saw a review that said his maverick rides like shit now

Im actually in the LA area but the truck is close to San Diego right now so I will be going down there to pick up the truck. If you want to take a look at the old rack and pinion you are welcome to have it.

honestly was very impressed this little unibody held up to that hard of a hit. No a arm damage, no cracked steering nuckles and most importantly the “frame” is A ok

I definetly will. Go fast Camper and airbags on the way as well 👍

Also I saw on another post of yours that you trimmed your rear bumper. How are you liking that and how is the numbers rigidity after trimming? Also considering doing that

Honestly they are not bad. My only problem with them is that there isn’t a lot of meat on the tire so I honestly wouldn’t bother airing down too much most of the time so I probably didn’t experience their true performance but not bad. They did fine I’ve racked this little thing to Mammoth, lake havasu, pismo beach and glamis since I got this thing in may and it has always impressed me. I come from f250s and f150s so I was pleasantly surprised that this thing handles everything I threw at it so far besides my own stupidity at Glamis lol

Yes would love to get the old rack and any axles for dissection!
Am home anytime and can meet you at the dealer or you can meet me anywhere you want . I’m in east county close to el cajon /lakeside.
My suggestion is call the dealer about the used parts , they will generally throw the stuff away even days before you pick it up!
Which dealer?
And love the bumper cut , you can check it out.But for me not enough angle and protection so it will be coming off in about 2 weeks for the new one with new tow hitch in a different location.
