I've heard from @fordvideoguy that spray-in bedliners aren't a constraint for orders. However, my dealer in Canada told me it is a constraint, and that's the reason my vehicle hasn’t been scheduled.

They recommended removing the Lariat factory spray-in liner from the order and having it done locally instead. But I also heard it's not possible to delete because it actually isn't a constraint...

Does anyone have thoughts on factory spray-in liners versus aftermarket ones? And why is there so much mixed messaging from Ford on this?

What model did you order? Some include the SIBL as standard equipment, and can't be deleted. Other have the SIBL as an option, which CAN be deleted before scheduling.

My '23 XLT had an aftermarket Line-X. my last 2 Lariats had factory ones. Hard to tell the difference between them.

Get the info right from Ford Corporate, in writing.....see the thread linked below.

SIBL is not a constraint this week (at least not for the US), and I don't recall seeing it as a constraint in past scheduling weeks.

I think you should be focused more on the fact that it claims "Canada" is a constraint. Right? I think that is what your image shows.

Yeah the whole Canada is a constraint thing is weird...

I thought they all came from the same factory. Must be doing US orders first possibly?

Looking at the Ford.ca site, they do offer a SIBL delete option. If your dealer claims that removing it would get you scheduled, go for it. Nothing wrong with a quality job done locally.

If I were you I would definitely opt for a aftermarket brand like Line-X or Rhino Liner before I got the Ford spray in.

Yeah, I called them and it's about $800cdn for line-x, if I delete the factory liner I get $675cdn back.

Line-x also lifetime warranty vs Ford's 3 year.

Also Ford doesn't prep (scuffing up the paint) the bed before they spray it in as well as spraying over the factory bolts. Whereas Line-X and Rhino Liner both prep the bed and they don't spray over the factory bolts.

There are plenty of videos on YouTube showing the Ford liner just peeling out in large chunks, because of their lack of prep work.

The mixed message is because the factory spray in bed liner is a separate production line. So there is always a "constraint" because it typically adds a couple weeks to production depending on the number of vehicles waiting for it. Whether that's really a constraint, is subject to interpretation.

Your dealer is misinformed. I have it on good authority that the spray-in bedliner production has increased and is not being held up. Beside you can not remove the spray-in bedliner on the Lariat trim. It is standard and there is not a delete option anymore.

Just got it deleted from my order, and recieved a new invoice. Must be a Canadian thing?

Seems a lot for the engine block heater, bit you probably need it.
