IF your vehicle happens to be one of the ones that is used to smuggle drugs out of Mexico, a good idea would be to have your local LE agency with a Drug Interdiction Dog do a quick walkaround on it before taking possession.
So, is the idea that -- if they already found drugs in the truck before it gets to the dealer -- you should call LE and ask for a courtesy sniff from their drug dog when you go to get it?

Good luck with that if you're a civilian -- our drug dogs here in Southern Arizona are pretty busy. You can always ask, I guess, but I doubt they will show up to out check a car that's already been searched and released.

BTW, did you ever find that recent article on undocumented aliens riding inside cars on trains?

Here's a thought that might help you avoid getting deleted.

Maybe the comments about "not breaking the law" aren't the problem.

Maybe it was comments like "rif raft down south" and "these scum" that got you tagged.

First, everyone placed a Reservation (mine was back in June or July) for a unit. That then required that they select a Dealer, contact them and convert that Reservation to an actual Order, which typically required a Deposit (mine was $500 and was made a week after I placed the Reservation) At that point we began to see Ford state that they intended to fill those orders before making Stock Units to send to Dealerships for Retail Sale. Fast forward to the last few weeks where we now see videos being posted daily by Ford Dealerships with units available (albeit at over MSRP prices) on their lots for sale. I know some are from Orders that we declined when they began to show up, but from my understanding from Dealership Personnel, most are simply retail sale units. My point is that you would think that Ford would have the integrity to both stick to their original commitment to fill actual customers orders, as well as not tell us one thing and do the exact opposite.

Long as I am ranting, I have a 2.0 AWD Lariat in Velocity Blue with a Tow Pkg and a Luxury Pkg on order. The 'word' from the Dealer is that the XL and then the XLT is being produced first and then they will begin to make the Lariat. Meanwhile, I see new videos with Lariats being made daily. Seriously? I had to drop the Hard Tri-Fold Tonneau Cover from my order, for the order to go forward (no biggie: buy one aftermarket, but still) Yet I see video's being made with them on the trucks from the factory. My original build date (even tho' I ordered back in Summer) was for Nov. 1st. Then that got bumped up to Nov. 9th. Gotta wonder if that will get bumped up before the 9th gets here (as today is Nov. 2nd)

Then yesterday I see on the news where undocumented aliens have been found riding the rails inside of new cars being transported from Mexico and living in them while journeying North. Hmmm..... better take a really close look at the insides for signs of habitation or damage before assuming it is brand shiny new, whenever it arrives I suppose

I too ordered in early June. Received a build date of 11/ 01 and moved to 11/08. I have repeatedly trying to get the sales guy to talk $$. I haven’t been asked for a deposit or even met the guy. I have made several attempts to add the kkeyless lock pad to the door and haven’t gotten any help. I ordered the off road package. And had questions . I ordered from Jim click dealership in green valley Az. After reading your comments I am worried about the truck being lived in also. I live an hour from the border

Dang you are the third or fourth person slamming those of us that got the FX4 package, second one that mentioned ego, Old Fart was the other poster but hell he bashed anyone that didn't get a hybrid XL...whatever.. I got what I wanted, I am paying for what I want. The package seemed like a decent deal for the cost. Not sure where ego can be applied for something that fits my needs but oh well...my ego will be stroked soon since my delivery is on or about November 18th. I am thrilled for anyone that gets what they want regardless of color, options, eco or hybrid but apparently that's not the opinion of some and I agree the waiting absolutely sucks.
I also take offense and M curious what the off road package would have to do with delays. It certainly is no ego trip to order that package . I am a female geologist snd go rock crawling vonstantly .

Wow, you sound like a very charming and fun to be around individual, so I'll give you a tip: There are TONS of sites on the Interwebz for bitching and bellyaching about this kinda stuff but this forum is actually centered around discussing this new truck ford is releasing called the Maverick.

Take a look around, it's a fascinating lil pickup!

When posting on a forum dedicated to specific subject matter like this forum is dedicated specifically to the new Ford Maverick, some people have trouble leaving personal bias out of the conversation when the subject matter strays from the intended topic.

Often that personal bias surfaces when other people post unsubstantiated claims that are not supported by proof or evidence.

It is best for all concerned to stay on topic and not post information that is untrue or information that is unable to be verified as true or false.

I have heard that it is always darkest before the dawn...…(or is that Daylight Savings Time?) Hang in there!! You will get it and you will love it. You cannot control Ford, but you can control how you handle the frustration. Good Luck!

Didn't get it off of the Internet, it was on the Local News on TV.

On ANOTHER Note However... My Nov. 1st Date was rescheduled to Nov. 9th. I just received an email from Ford that my Nov. 9th Date was just rescheduled for Nov. 15th. The interesting thing is that in speaking with my dealer today, they told me that they are getting in two Lariat Retail Units to sell next week.

We are right back to Ford filling Dealers Retail orders BEFORE filling their customers orders that made deposits back in June/July. THEY SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES.

Perhaps there is an Attorney that would like to get all those people together to do a Class Action Suit against Ford.... Pretty easy to show intent... after all Ford has now instituted a financial program to provide funding for the purchase to Maverick Owners that will elevate their credit rating up a notch, to compensate for their having placed their orders in the middle of the year and waiting so long to have them filled, to compensate for any credit rating changes that they may have incurred in that passage of time (while everyone knows it is to save their own butt, to keep people from backing out of the orders for that reason after so long) while at the same time, unduly extending that timeframe by NOT filling those orders and filling retail sales orders instead.

Any Attorneys out there that placed an order and are finding themselves in this position? :)

Umm…this is illegible. Read it aloud to yourself. I think this one ought to be deleted as well. Still amusing after all these pages read, so thank you for that.

Did the dealer order these two retail units or did Ford decide to ship them to the dealer?

Who told the dealer that they were getting two retail units to sell? If it was Moses, I believe him, otherwise I would wait and see.
