Remote start range extender antennae

Does this Ford part extend the range of the key fob that comes with the truck, or is there a specific 'remote start fob' that it works with? Has anyone tried this accessory, if so, how did it work out?

It's designed only to plug into the add-on Perimeter Security System module. So if you have factory-integrated remote start via fob it's not compatible.

If you want extended range hold the key fob under your chin when remote starting. Otherwise use the Ford pass app.

My XL's OEM fob unlocks the truck from several hundred feet away. It also remote-starts it from about that same distance, through the $100 aftermarket Start-X remote start accessory I installed.

Before you buy an antenna, try changing the battery in your key fob.
