I'm looking for feedback on anyone that has experienced any repairs not covered by 36K warranty OR anyone that has had to use the extended warranty. I just paid off my '22 Hybrid and plan to switch careers next year, so I am thinking of buying the extended warranty through Flood or Granger. An 85K/6 year warranty will run me $1,065 with only a $100 deductible. I'm concerned that my A/C will go out or anything that is not powertrain (100K warranty). I need peace of mind cause I will be on a tight budget when I switch careers.

Has anyone needed to repair ANYTHING before the 85K mark on their Maverick?

This would be a great poll. I've always wanted to see a poll on MTC about extended warranties. Restricted to people who actually needed major repairs. With a simple "Did your extended warranty cover your major repair fairly and as promised". With a "yes" "no" answer option.

Is the $200 deductible table more attractive? As with all insurance, the best option is to prevent exposure to catastrophic loss for the longest term and lowest cost

with the hybrid too many expensive electrical things can go wrong. i wont even come close to hitting 100k miles, but i went with that 100k miles 10yr no deductible and the headlight protection. i wanna throw my keys at the dealer, say hey hairdo fix it and call me when its done. people on here will say its a waste of money, the way i see it $2100/10, $210/yr knowing that i am covered is well worth it.

The $200 deductible price is only ~$100 cheaper. So basically a wash if you only ever make one claim to somewhat worse if you make two or more.

That was my thinking too but since I didn't share that table most people wouldn't know it was only 100 bucks cheaper.

When I was pricing them last month some of the plans were priced the same no matter if 100 or 200 dollar deductible was selected.

I know a guy who had a front axle go out in warranty and then the other side went out after warranty, $650.00 There is also a kid on Youtube who has 120k on his Maverick but he beats the snot out of it and he had the transmission replaced with extended warranty and a few more things that I can't remember now. I have a 24 Lariat and plan to buy 100k warranty. If I have no issues then I guess you can say I wasted $1K but if the tranny goes or the engine or turbo blows then I will look like a genius.

I own 6 Ford's the oldest of which is a 2015. I haven't spent one cent on any out of warranty repairs. Extended warranties are win for the house. I would never waste the money on one. Anecdotes from the few people that make out with them is not proof of value.

Good info. With this being said which would be the most reliable extend warranty company? I'm always getting these letters from Car Shield etc. Not for sure about them, or the ones that solicit your business.

This is the thing WHAT is covered for the hybrid version. I called talked to woman at Ford and she said the E-cvt is NOT covered under extended warranty. Yes it comes with 8 years 100K But at 8.1 years your out of luck. That E-cvt would be so darn costly the Mav might be junk at that point.

Does that mean all the electronic components related to hybrid are also just under the 8-100K . Not sure what they call those units on top of e-cvt that control the power distribution are under what warranty? They look expensive. I know the battery is NOT covered under extended at all, has the 8-100 that is it. Are all those water cooling lines covered under extended warranty or 8-100 or not at all.

I am still debating on extended or not, Front axles are a peace of cake to swap out yourself. At least for me. Not sure what the part goes for on Mav but escape at Rock auto are cheap,

Claiming you've never needed to use an extended warranty is just as anecdotal.

If you're gonna throw money at an extended warranty, get a FORD factory warranty from Granger or other dealer that won't charge you two arms & a leg for it. That way, you'll know any Ford dealership will honor it.

Pointing out that extended warranties are very profitable for the seller is not.

Do you have actual data on what Ford's ESP unit takes in/pays out or is that just conjecture?
