Afe or S&B intake?

Good Morning everyone. I'm having a hard time choosing between the two intakes afe or the S&B intake? I just bought a 2024 XLT and have just over 1000 miles now looking to upgrade. I've read though a lot of the old posts and can't decide.

I went with stock. I know boring but it is paid for, it has the MAF sensor in the right spot to determine air flow, filters out dirt really well, and keeps the Ford warranty folks happy.

I'd certainly go with S&B. The main difference is the S&B replaces the factory intake scoop with a larger one. I'm sticking with a drop-in filter unless I end up upgrading other engine components as I'm not convinced it would make enough of difference to justify $350+.

S&B is a very well made intake. When I took this thing out of the box and installed it the build on it is top notch.

Will an S&B Cold Intake void my warranty?

Installing an S&B Intake Kit or Filter will not void your vehicle's warranty as long as you properly install and maintain your intake/filter.

It is illegal for a dealership to void your warranty based solely on the fact that you have installed an aftermarket product. Your rights are protected by the Consumer Product Warranties Law, often referred to as the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act.

If a dealer threatens to void your warranty, S&B will step in to assist you. "S&B commits that our customers will not be charged for a repair due to the manufacturer denying their warranty claim because of the presence of an S&B intake kit or OE replacement filter. We warrant that using an S&B intake kit or OE filter will not result in the denial of your vehicle’s warranty." Million Mile Warranty

S/B also replaces the restrictive turbo inlet pipe but it does not look fun to swap -

I really like that intake. I have a drop in filter which is plenty big enough for our trucks. But the intake tube seems small. Two options could be drill out bottom of air box and install 1” foam filter plugs like on atvs like a warm air intake setup.
Or trim out the front of the grill to allow clean access to the airflow hitting the front of the truck.
But I could also do that with the SB

When my warranty is up, this is the intake I want to install. I am glad they would stand behind any denied warranty claim, but I think the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act would apply to any brand replacement filter in the factory air cleaner assembly, just the same as any oil or fuel filter could be used, but I have never read the fine print of this law.

The turbo inlet was a royal pain in the arse. It was the worst part of the install. Lots of awkward positioning and many swear words......

Want does S&B mean by step in? Are they hiring the lawyer?

The dealer/manufacturer is in the position of power, not you and some warranty act.

When they deny it and you wave that act in front of them and they still deny it, what then?

You have to hire a lawyer, be without your vehicle while you fight. How many people have the resources for that?
