Was just cruising crutchfield for new speakers and noticed JL now makes a stealth box with a 10-in sub for the rear storage area on the driver side of the Maverick.

Definitely not the cheapest option at one penny under $800, but you know what you're getting with anything JL Audio.

Says it fits my non B&O 2024 XLT. Wonder if the Hybrid that kills it, wouldn't think the B&O would be a issue. But not positive.

How come the image of the speaker mounted in the truck shows the speaker angled towards the front of the vehicle, but the image of the speaker itself shows the speaker pointed "straight"? And the speaker grills are different.

Seems like $800 is as low as they are willing to go, and I suspect very few people are still willing to pay that. I wouldn't. JL or not. I would however pay it if there was a plug and play option for the existing B&O system. JL is more than capable of doing so.

That was one thing I liked about my Tacoma even though the system wasn't the greatest, there was a brand called OEM Audio+ that made a drop in plug and play system. All I had to do was run wiring and connect everything.

It would not be hard at all for a company like JL to make a replacement amp that bolts right in place and a drop in sub exactly like this. I'd buy it in a heartbeat and I suspect more people would to. Because it's easy. I'd be willing to pay about a grand for it too. Same as I did for my Tacoma.

Here is the setup btw:

Literally just dropped in the existing cubby space, ran the wiring and mounted the amp under the drivers seat per the instructions and existing mounting spots. And they offer a much better setup now days too. When I got this it was back in 2019. Now it's a full on kit for all the speakers.

I wish they made something for the Mavericks because the setup is ripe for it. I think when I got my setup for the Taco it was just over $1,100. So I'm not sure who JL thinks they are marketing towards with an $800 sub/box combo in our budget Mavericks, but the target has been missed.

You are breaking down cheap rendering entirely too much. It was the same fiasco with the "not black" doors in the BAP here. It's just a rendering folks.

@Montana , I agree. 800.00 is alot of dough for a enclosure and a sub, still needs a amp. Personally I already have a 10" Kicker sub and mono Alpine amp from previous truck.

I don't believe the box will fit behind the Mavericks seat like it did my F-150 Screw.

The sub will fit ANY maverick, B&O or standard stereo. Crutchfield lists it as not working with the B&O, because they don't want people thinking it is a plug and play replacement for the factory sub. That's my guess anyway. That storage compartment is the same regardless of trim or engine. It is just up to the user to get it connected and powered.

I think JL was trying to let people have their cake and eat it too, by making the sub have a little storage area for people worried about losing under seat storage. By doing that, they made some compromises on air space/sub they used. I do think it is a good solution for some people, and I'm not knocking it. For me, I think the better solution is one of the pre-fab enclosures with more air space and a sub with more bit more arse ;)

I agree, this is the identical box I will be building for my ps storage area. The box shouldn't cost me more than $50-75 to build.

I opted for dual ground shaker 10" with the kicker L7T shallow mounts. Much better deal buying (2) Ground Shaker boxes than just one, but hybrids are stuck with one. I'll be anxious to see some reviews of this new option and how it performs.

I know that people will want the whole JL experience, but honestly this little 8" Rockville powered sub I put in between the battery and storage is surprising. It certainly hits well enough to make EDM fun. Spent under a hundred bucks for it, too.
