I wanted to stop things from sliding forward in the bed on the drop in bed liner. I know about the 2x6 piece of wood but here's what I did. Amazon has black tension shower curtain rod. I can go up, down, forward or back with just a twist of the wrist. Better looking than a piece of wood and not limited to the slots.

I just use a adjustable tension curtain rod to keep my cooler and milk crate in place . Have 2x4s but rod works well and less weight . had it from something in garage . works for me .

Yeah, I got the Harbor Freight one about 8 years back. Still going strong, never slips.
