Would you order one?

https://www.autonews.com/future-product/ford-planning-4-door-road-mustangs-dealers-told

Beyond the Mustang family, officials showed dealers an upcoming compact van based on the Maverick pickup, pushing a physical prototype on and off the stage, according to the four attendees. That model, to replace the recently discontinued Transit Connect, is set to debut as early as next year, one person briefed on the plans said, although those in the room said Ford did not yet have a name or share production timing.

Before Ford killed the Transit Connect, which it had been importing from Spain, the automaker planned to build a next-generation model in Mexico alongside the Maverick and Bronco Sport.

if not go to the site https://archive.is/ and then copy/paste the autonews link and it appears to work (at least for the time being and that posting)

This link should work:

FORD MAVERICK VAN VARIANT

Personally, I would love to see this, especially if they offered an AWD version. If they offered one with the advanced AWD system found on the DS Badlands and Maverick Tremor, I'd actually consider trading my Maverick in on one. This thing could really develop a cult following as the poor man's smaller alternative to the Mercedes Sprinter.

Guys would make some sick camping/hunting/fishing rigs out of a moderately off-road capable cargo van based on the C2 platform -- and I might be one of them!

I owned a 2015 Ford Transit Connect. It was the LWB cargo version with the 2.5L. I thought it was a great vehicle; just the right size with lots of utility. It drove like a tall Focus (which is really was).

I always wondered why Ford never made a hybrid Transit Connect. I'd buy one.

This is what I have been talking about about would be perfect for Ford. A compact minivan. Especially if there is a Trail or Tremor model. Keep the Maverick wheelbase, bump up the roof from the 2nd row back and make the room for a 7 seat configuration without modifying the overall length. That would give you high occupancy plus about a foot and a half of trunk storage. Weight should still stay at about 4000 lbs. Hybrid AWD and a price range that starts at 30k and maxes out around 43k with lux options. It would be amazing. Also is the vehicle weight tips over 4000lbs towing could end up suitable at 5000lbs.

I got the name. The Ford Maverick Star. Pays homage but keeps the family name. Give it a big glass roof panel option on the lux model and call it Starliner.

That's a good name. That way when Elon Musk comes out with an aftermarket hyperspace drive, we can add them and won't have to change the vehicle name. :)

The portion posted in the first post is the only part relating to the Maverick Van in the article / link anyway.

There were other parts about a 4-door Mustang and Off-Road Mustang. That was posted here: https://www.mustang7g.com/forums/th...els-previewed-at-ford-dealers-meeting.162290/
I thought the Mustang Raptor was a joke, but it is being talked about in many car publications.

https://www.caranddriver.com/ford/mustang-raptor

Out of my price range but with the type of roads around here the off road mustang would be a better option for me compared to the on road one.

The Porsche 911 Dakar shows there is a market for this at many price ranges.

When i read the title..
First thought/vision in my head was the Nissan NV. Its their Van with a pickup truck cab. Shares the same hood, grille, front fenders and doors as their pickup..

So what's the over/under on how long till someone does a render? I think we should set it at 4-1/2 days. :)
