Its unbelievable to me that this is an affordable base level interior, and as much "wow" factor as that gives, the one and only powertrain has to be the most pathetic offering ever being not only the least powerful but also the least efficient in class, oof!

Looks like GM might have spent too much R&D money on EVs and miscalculated how relevant ICE would still be in 2025.

But back to the interior, I love that maaaaassive portrait style screen with physical volume knob kind of baked in to the screen... and this is a base trim? Soft touch everything, faux but good looking stitching, nice floating center console, Mustang style toggle switches, standard heated seats and steering wheel and the wheel design itself is nice, classy silver accents with none of that horrible piano gloss black trim like was a trend for a while. Thoughts?

Yes, the powertrain is unacceptably slow.

Growing up, I used to have this stereotype that GM had the worst interior but the best powertrains.

Now it seems like Toyota has the worst interiors and best powertrains, lol! Rav4 base engine is over 200hp and they offer a 220hp hybrid and a 300hp "Prime" version, but a sad interior.

Bought a 2024 Equinox in February. Knew about the acceleration complaints going in but it didn’t feel that bad on the test drive.
95% of my driving is rural and around town and don’t really find myself wishing for a more powerful motor in those situations. Only time it feels a little slow is merging onto highways sometimes.
As far as gas mileage goes getting 28-29 for local driving, and up to 33 MPG on highway. With about 5000 miles on the odometer lifetime average is reading 30.2 MPG. Mine has the 6 speed transmission so an 8 speed would probably help a little for mileage and acceleration.
I’ve owned a lot slower cars in my lifetime, that’s for sure !

IMO its OK to have low power if economy is great and visa versa.

Also, the '25 Equinox gets worse economy than the '24, which is surprising because its now a CVT and in FWD you'd expect it would be efficient, but its rated 26 city/28highway EPA.

Definitely need to get the new Equinox/Terrain in AWD only, as then you get an 8-speed, higher peak torque (meaning they don't trust the CVT and had to artificially restrict engine output just to not break), and you even get quite a bit larger fuel tank and fuel economy is about the same.

When I want a kick in the butt, I jump in, or put on, my Slingshot. Second and third gears are like a 1969 V8 Nova.

Probably not going to be an "affordable" price.

Most likely they just made what used to be considered a "mid trim interior" the lowest level by simply not offering anything lower. Expect the price to match up more so with mid tiers from the past.

Is that a brand of thong?

Oh hmm, previous gen started at $30K, but you may be right I see no MSRP advertised.

Lot of features for a base model. I like the 2 person seat memory. Interesting that they moved the shifter to a stalk configuration. I dislike the 15" screen. Much too large unless you're using it to watch a movie. Otherwise, a big distraction. Seems GMC put some quality in the interior materials . . . very nice, but I'm guessing the base price is going to be just south of 50k.

With that small 1.5 liter turbo I doubt the base price will be anywhere near 50k. I’m just guessing but I’m thinking around 35 k for base model, should be able to get fully loaded top trim line model for less than 50k.

" The price of the 2025 GMC Terrain is expected to start around $32,000."

Its basically just the same thing as say a Chevy Trax vs a Buick Envista, same platform but slightly differentiated styling and interiors, with the Buick essentially starting at a higher trim w/ a $2K price premium. The Chevy Trax LT has basically the same price as a Buick Envista Preferred, so I bet it will be similar with the Terrain and Equinox.

You can build a 2025 Chevy Equinox already, which starts at $30K, so a $32K Terrain version makes sense.

I do like that they are bringing dual tone roofs back, especially in TX I like the idea of having the color I like for the body but a white roof not only to look neat but help keep the car cool.

Saw something on GM Authority today that pricing for 2025 Terrain will start at $31395 for the base Elevation model.
Nothing official on the GMC build/configuration site yet that I can see.
