It will be all new cars in a few years.
What will pulling the TCU fuse do? Prevent my truck from sending Ford ANY information? Will it prevent anything else I might find desirable, like Remote Start or Remote Lock that I can do through the Ford Pass App? Would it prevent the truck from transmitting my location to Ford?
Not sure I like Ford knowing every single place I go, but things like remote start, locking/unlocking, and locating my truck in case it's stolen would be nice to have. Will pulling the TCU stop those things?

I won't be doing that then. Remote start on really hot/cold days is awesome! And being able to lock my doors from anywhere (in case I can't remember if I locked them) is very nice.
Is it worth Ford knowing where I am every minute? Apple already knows; what's the difference? In fact, maybe the more people that know where I am, the better. It would help me get found if something bad happens AND prevent one person/company from framing me. It's hard to pin a jewelry heist on me if both Apple & Ford say I was home last Saturday @ 2:00am.
So which is - do you want "law and order" with strict enforcement of laws, or not?
Or do you want to only enforce certain laws against other people?
With all the a-hole drivers I see, I'd be happy for a crowdsourced way of enforcement. If multiple people's dashcams show someone driving dangerously, send that effer a ticket. No need to pull them over or confront. If a person receives enough citations, pull their license.
Remember, "driving is a privilege, not a right."

Read the story...it's for cop cars so they can record speed and the car being ticketed. It's nothing about spying on you. Good grief.

Ok, but as soon as I swerve to miss a deer that jumps out in front of me at 4am on the highway, on my way to work, and I'm sitting in the breakdown lane "disabled"...that'll be the last mile I drive that vehicle.
We are a VERY long ways from having dependable technology that is capable of this.

This is the age-old, "If you don't have anything to hide, why don't you want cameras everywhere?" discussion. What if your daughter speeds past you for some reason? Wouldn't you rather talk to her when y'all get home than for her to automatically get a ticket?
What if someone flies past you going to the hospital? What if someone is late for (insert a REALLY important event here) and are speeding when they normally don't? What if someone's censor is off, and you wrongfully get reported? There are a lot of reasons you wouldn't want someone to automatically get a ticket or be burdened with having to go before a judge.
On the other hand, probably 90% of reckless speeders are speeding just because they feel like it or because they couldn't figure out how to leave early enough to get somewhere on time and deserve a ticket.

Cops have locks on their lockers in a police station. An area separated from the public by limited access locked doors. Privacy seems pretty important to them.

If you're going to the hospital, then who cares about the ticket - you obviously had something more important to deal with. There could be an administrative review to clear it up - like a parking ticket that shouldn't have been given.
If a kid was routinely speeding - wouldn't you rather know about it via tickets in the mail instead of finding out after they crash their/your vehicle?
Again, if we have [speeding/driving] laws, do you or do you not want them enforced? And if we can enforce them equally, with less bias, isn't that better?

I pulled the fuse on mine and can still remote start from the key fob. Good for about 250 feet.
