Yes, you can remove the inner 4” inserts on your rear c pillar panels. Yes, a 4x6 will fit. Yes, I will provide (soon) the STL file needed to 3d print an adapter so you can mount it securely to the panel.

edit: the 4x6 i chose (kappa 463xf) does not fit in combination with the adapter. you might be able to get away with mounting and installing them without the adapter, but I'm not brave enough to try.

Side note: anyone have good stock panels with the inserts still they'd like to trade for these plus a little cash on top??

update - i ended up taking these panels to a renowned audio installer local to me. He has had the panels for a bit now and is working on the mounting of speakers.

I'll update this thread once I have them with results and whether or not they fit.

STL file has been attached and it mostly matches all the holes. youll want some shallow 4x6s, not the ones i am using, if you want to be super safe on clearances

I can export any file type you'd like that is in Autodesk Inventor.
Just let me know what you need. Can even provide the ipt I created as well if need be.

How are they going to be attached to the panel?

That is up to my audio fabricator. I couldn't come up with a solution, but you could likely use threaded rod + epoxy thru the holes, and nuts / washers to affix it

Once I get them back from him on Sunday night, I'll be sure to take pictures of what he did and we can go from there.

Me too. quite sick of having basically all of my interior panels off and scratching them up, breaking clips, etc.!

Can totally understand that. I have brand new panels ready to go. Broke one of them before. Epoxy does wonders. But i think it might crack for sure removing it again. lol

Update - they're just too thick. You could probably get away with the 463xf in the rear without the 3d printed plate, but 100% not with it.

back to square 1...

You said you have new panels... where did these come from? I am seeing $120+/panel.. and I'm not super willing to pay that. Going to go with a 4" speaker, so hoping someone on here might wanna trade my cut panels for stock ones + a little cash on top on my end.

That price is pretty spot on. LoL I will remove my current panels and install baffles and insulation. Was hoping for bigger speaker, but can live with the aftermarket 4” ones. The new panels come with all the clips and oem speakers screwed on. Ford being dumb I guess! But that explains some of the cost for new panels.

FYI it is totally possible to fit some 4x6 speakers in the rear panels, without adding a printed adapter. I don't have time to search at the moment, but there are a few options mentioned in other stereo upgrade threads. I have also seen a YT video of a guy actually putting (also Infinity, I think) 4x6s in his Maverick, but I can't remember if that was linked in a thread around here. I plan on jamming 4x6 speakers in that location for the marginally better performance over a 4".

but nobody has actual pics or fitments etc. in video or anything. So... it's almost like its a pipe dream.

if you can find that link, let me know... because i returned the 463xf's i intended on using. likely just going to a infinity 4" model instead.
