I don't own rose colored glasses and knew it was an inexpensive truck going in. What they didn't tell me was how much fun it is to drive. It's agile, powerful, corners well and comfortable all inline with the price and then some. My MPG is holding at 24 with almost no highway miles never having been reset.

I researched a lot before I ordered. No surprises for me.

Knowing about Ford quality, I did buy the extended warranty.

I am still about two months away from getting my Maverick, so I got nothing to do but think about it.

What do up wish you had known or someone had told you before you got your Maverick? Any unexpected surprises?
That the hybrid FWD tows really really well.
Better than expected.

I wish someone had told me how much buying a new vehicle sucks. 🤣 I've always bought used before, let some other sucker eat the new vehicle price, but I was a sucker and went for it. Not that you can get a used Maverick for much less than MSRP, so it wouldn't save much, other than the hassle of buying from a dealership. The only nice thing about buying new is that I know someone didn't rag on it and I have the complete vehicle service history.
My 2023 Maverick was my first new vehicle purchase and I have no complaints about the experience. I did it over the phone with no hassle at all.

I originally was going to buy used but the prices where crazy. I got my D plan FX4/4K Maverick for $28,000. I looked at used F150's in that price range and they would be 10 years old with 100,000 miles and no factory warranty left on them. At least here in California.

By ordering my Maverick I was able to get exactly what I wanted which is not easily done when buying used.

Try to lock in financing if needed. Interest went up a ton while waiting for my mav to arrive. I was lucky to get 5% which made the payment more than I wanted it to be.

Otherwise I still smile every time I drive it. Maybe not kiss the bumper, but definitely keep it clean and take care of it.

No hassles, I just hate salesmen, full stop. ;) Yeah being able to customize what I wanted was nice, but frankly I would rather be able to test drive and walk out the same day, instead of waiting 9 months on something I've never touched before. When I ordered mine in 2021, none had even shipped yet, it was totally unknown. Due to an accident I had to buy another car a few months before getting the Maverick, so buying two vehicles in 4 months was a hassle, which could have been avoided.

I wish that someone would have told me that spending to much time on MTC could be a bad thing and give you a misperception about the Maverick and Ford.

That's the internet though so not much you can do about it.🤷‍♂️

My sales person was really nice so no problem there. I was able to look at a Maverick before I placed my order and I could have driven a Hybrid that my brother had as a RAV but decided not to.

I do understand that having to wait until your order arrived to drive a Maverick to be less than desirable. That being said, the having to wait wasn't something that was an unknown so I'm not sure why that was a problem for you.

As I said, it was because I had to buy another vehicle while waiting for the Maverick, not sure how to make it more clear.

My experience vs. Asheville.

1. Its way easier to park at the grocery store than a Tacoma.
2. I paid $400 for an Overland Trail tune on my Tacoma to get it to drive as good as the Maverick.
3. When I got my Maverick, I use to turn it off every time I got in. Now I don't and it doesn't bother me.
4. Yeah, it crosses my mind
5. I swapped tires because I wanted it to look cool. (rear spacers also!)
6. Its fine
7. My wife hasn't mentioned it
8. whatever
9. I bought Ford cheapest car, so far so good.

and this would have made you choose a different vehicle to purchase, or it would have prepared you better for disappointment? 🤔
The latter. Everyone says "you'll get used to it" or "you will learn to love it". If a manual is out of the question, a column shifter would be nice.

Don't cheap out and leave the 4k tow package off. You're already spending 34k.
For 2025 they can even get the 4k towing and AWD with the Hybrid. So that's even more reason to get it unless they're absolutely certain they won't need it.
