How long has this engine been out? It was in the Escape I assume?HP is the same. 22-24 250 HP on 91, 25+ 237 HP on 87. The engine is not 'all new', but it may well have port + direct injection, which may explain the different intake routing. The internals and twin scroll turbocharger are identical.
Engine output is the same as the 22-24 models using 87 octane, they may just changed the way they rate it, & you may get those horsepower back using 91, would they really redesign the engine that has to go through a new EPA certification?HP is the same. 22-24 250 HP on 91, 25+ 237 HP on 87. The engine IS INDEED "all-new" for the 2025 model year. It is their new line of Ecoboost engine family called the MPC which stands for Modular Power Cylinder. It first debuted on the 2024 Mustang 2.3 and also the the Ford Escape for 2023 for the 1.5 and the 2.0. In the Escape this engine still makes 250hp but I believe Ford derated the engine just a tad for the LOBO model to look good on paper.HP is the same. 22-24 250 HP on 91, 25+ 237 HP on 87. It is an all new engine that uses a different head, block, and valve train. It's based on the new MPC new Ecoboost engine family.Adding port fuel injection, reducing the turbo size and adding an electronic wastegate is not 'all new'. Still the same block, head, valvetrain etc.
I agree the 2.0 , should be a 2.7 or at least the 2.3 , but the trans is the same too , most don’t realize our 8 speeds are actually a seven speed!LOBO having 2.0 ecoboost is a letdown. 7 speed is interesting with paddle shifters, but its not the ST we wanted.
