PRESS RELEASE (SEARCHABLE TEXT VERSION):

Hybrid Meets All-Wheel Drive on New Tech-Packed 2025 Ford Maverick

When the Ford Maverick debuted in 2021, Americans fell in love with the truck they never knew they needed.

Now Ford is making its smallest truck smarter to match the capability, spaciousness, and versatility that made Maverick the surprise hit of the decade so far. And of course, Maverick still has the lowest starting price of any pickup in America.

Handling challenging terrain and inclement weather gets easier for Maverick Hybrid customers with an all-wheel drive option new for 2025 that now has an optional package doubling towing capacity. Maverick customers can leave their smartphone cords at home thanks to new wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ cast on a larger, 13.2-inch touchscreen, and can tow like a pro regardless of skill level with new towing technologies coming in early 2025.

These upgrades and more were requests from owners, the most loyal in the midsize truck segment, who continue to choose Maverick for its versatility, Built Ford Tough capability and value.

These characteristics are drawing customers from not just other truck brands, but other segments, like small cars and small SUVs; 60 percent of Maverick customers trade in vehicles from other brands.

XLXLTLariatTremor
The most affordable Maverick with everything a customer needs (including standard hybrid front-wheel drive and steelies) and nothing they don’t.The most popular Maverick trim with additional convenient and purposeful features. The Maverick with ultimate comfort and convenience. Now its own trim series, with all the great off-road capability of the previous trim package, plus standard 360-degree camera and new, One-Pedal drive.

These new-to-Ford and new-to-truck customers are impressed by Maverick’s helpful features like the FLEXBED storage solution, or the Ford Integrated Tether System, which allows for 3D print custom parts like charging cord wraps, console dividers, and custom cupholders.

These customers also don’t have to choose between versatility and efficiency, especially if they choose Maverick Hybrid. It has a targeted EPA-estimated 42 miles per gallon in the city and 500 miles of range with the standard hybrid front-wheel drive model, and a targeted EPA-estimated 40 miles per gallon in the city with the hybrid all-wheel drive model.

Built Ford Tough Capability and Versatility

The biggest update – and the No. 1 request of owners – is the addition of an all-wheel drive hybrid model. It’s available on XL, XLT, and Lariat trims.

The hybrid all-wheel-drive model delivers traction over various road and trail conditions and in all types of weather. Customers who select the hybrid all-wheel drive model can tow small campers, personal watercraft, and utility trailers thanks to the available 4K Tow Package.

Maximum payload capacity checks in at 1,500 pounds and the Maverick FLEXBED helps customers better organize their payload. Pockets molded into the sidewalls allow cut pieces of 2x4 to section off the bed to help prevent cargo and gear from sliding around. Dividers in the top pockets create two-tier loading, great for bags of mulch on the bottom and landscape timbers on top. And the bed, coupled with the multi-position tailgate, is large enough to fit up to 18 full sheets of half inch 4-by-8-foot plywood.

The multi-position tailgate can also be positioned flat to haul long cargo such 2x4s or a couch or secured in the middle position to carry a mountain bike with a place to rest the rear wheel, with a bed extender available through Ford Accessories for greater cargo security.

Accessing power to plug in gear like air compressors and battery chargers for power tools is easy with the 110V/400W outlet in the bed (and there’s also one in the cab). DIYers can add their own features like 12V outlets or lighting with pre-wired 12V connections.

New Tech to Save Time, Reduce Clutter and Anxiety

Maverick now features SYNC 4 that is clearly presented on the largest standard touchscreen in its class, a 13.2-inch display that replaces the previous 8-inch screen. It is paired with the 8-inch digital instrument cluster visible above the steering wheel. Owners can leave their phone cords at home with wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ and can stay connected and informed through SYNC® 4 with Enhanced Voice Recognition and connected navigation. A new built-in 5G modem gives Maverick the latest wireless tech and allows Maverick to receive software updates to keep vehicle systems up to date.

The SYNC 4 system is also a portal to other helpful technologies.

Customers use Maverick in urban environments with tight corners and small parking spaces. Maneuvering is straightforward with the 360-Degree Camera, new for 2025 and a customer favorite first developed for F-Series. It provides a split-view display of what’s directly in front of or behind the vehicle, along with cross-traffic views.

Available Pro Trailer Hitch Assist helps take the frustration out of hitching a trailer. It works by using the rear camera and corner radars to align the hitch with the trailer coupler while simultaneously controlling the truck’s speed, steering, and braking to stop at just the right place.

Once hitched, Pro Trailer Backup Assist makes backing up a trailer as easy as turning a knob to indicate which direction the trailer should go while reversing into position.

Both technologies are important additions because almost half of Maverick owners tow, even those who trade in their small cars and small SUVs. Both Pro Trailer Hitch Assist and Pro Trailer Backup Assist are new standard features on the Lariat and Tremor trims.

Peace of mind is standard for drivers with the suite of Ford Co-Pilot360 technology. For 2025, every Maverick is equipped with standard Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane-Keeping Aid, a Rear View Camera and Auto LED High-Beam Headlamps.

New this year, Lariat and Tremor are equipped with Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop-and-Go, Lane Centering, and Speed Sign Recognition. Customers love this feature because it makes driving easier.

Freshened Appearance, Inside and Out

Dark appearance LED headlamps, the front bumper, and the grille are all redesigned and standard for a fresh look. Higher trims feature LED projector headlamps with LED signature accent lighting to set those vehicles apart with a more premium appearance. Grilles now vary across trim levels to give each its own unique appearance.

The new 19-inch wheels on the Lariat trim provide added sophistication for that trim.

Inside, the trim differentiation continues with new trim colors and materials across the door, instrument panel, console, and seats. Customers asked for new interior color accent choices, so our Aspen Gray/Navy Pier theme trim on XLT now comes with Grabber Blue accents. Lariat adds a Smoke Truffle theme with bronze accents.

There’s also a new Black Package featuring its own unique grille, black roof, black Ford badges, and 19-inch gloss black wheels.

Starting MSRP for 2025 is $26,295, plus $1,595 for destination and delivery, for the standard hybrid front wheel drive model. The new Maverick and Maverick Hybrid are available to order starting Aug. 1, with deliveries expected to begin in late 2024.

I like the new head unit. And I like the "push start" for the Hybrid like the Prius has.

Can you explain why the new redesign is better? For a person who probably won't do any major tuning.

The new entry price point is a crazy increase. MY24 XL base was $23,400. $27,890 is a 19% jump in one year!

Interesting....but wouldn't you think that even fleet purchases would pony up the extra $? Really not that much difference. But...yeah xlt constraints motivating others to go the XL route if that's the new low order model - might be some intentional Ford tactic - more profits now on the XL vs the XLT.
Remember that large fleet buyers don't pay retail. This is the consumer price, which is just a hair less than XLT.

So, I see this as Ford encouraging consumers to get XLT while leaving the XL to the fleet customers.
