I’ve been getting phone notification of battery sleep mode. I dont drive often and apparently the battery doesn’t like it. I want to install a trickle charger to keep battery charged. Where do you hook up cables? Thanks 2024 hybrid lariat.

Here's where I hooked mine up........

;)

That high-quality waterproof receptacle is attached to the '+" jump post under the red cap under the hood. I threaded a nut half way down the post, attached the "+ cable, then another nut to jam them together. The "-" connection went on to one of the many frame ground bolts in the same area.. I have a Battery Tender Jr. with a cigarette lighter style plug hung on the wall close by that side of the truck... My Mavericks were used primarily for my (6) 1k mile fishing trips each year and often sat unused for ~30 days at a time, and I grew tired of opening the hood to connect the battery tender. That 'vent' trim panel pops out with a plastic interior panel tool and is held in by 4 spring tabs. A new panel is ~$50 so I could undo the mod easily and inexpensively...

You could attach them to the jump points under the hood. Use a metal clamp or something similar to secure them on them and dangle the cord out the bottom. Although the guy about with the side install looks great.

Hilarious we have to do this, but it will greatly extend the life of your 12v battery if you do so.

I would appreciate it if you could explain further. Where are the jump points?

If you have the FordPass app with remote start you can set a schedule for the truck to start and it will shut down after 15 minutes by itself. I drive mine almost daily so I have never had your issue...

Does anyone know how many Amps you need to supply to close the circuit and engage the hybrid battery for 12v recharging? I'm just wondering if something like that side install can properly handle the current necessary for a "jump."

I've had my 2024 Maverick Hybrid for 6 months now.

I was on a 15 day vacation in April and got a notice on Fordpass that it was in deep sleep after 14 days. The only thing i noticed was my dome lights didn't come on. It started just fine and after a few minutes of driving, my dome lights work normally.

I just got back from an 11 day trip, no messages on Fordpass, but again , my dome lights did not come on when I opened the door. It started just fine. I took a short drive and the dome lights are back to normal.

It this a problem or a feature ?

I use the + jump post under the hood on the driver's side. It's under the red cap.
For - use the silver post on the wheel well, or any good ground point on the body.

Reset the BMS after charging, before driving it again.

I've been doing this for over 9 months, whenever the truck will sit for several days. I have never had a low battery symptom.

I have a strong feeling the battery issues are in part to the CP-360 sensors going off even when off and parked. I was taking out the trash the other night, my Mav hadn't been driven for over a day, but when I got close it started that clicking sound. I had spoke to a rep about that, he said it was the battery cooling or something - but that made no sense considering the vehicle hadn't been driven and temp was stable. My Hybrid has the Co-Pilot 360, I had wondered if there was a way to turn that off for when the vehicle wasn't going to be on for a while (like in an airport parking lot where there was a lot of traffic driving by). While certainly there could be times when the system does regulate the battery temp, my gut feeling is some of these drained battery issues may be caused by the motion sensors.

To the OP, there is a 2 year long thread about this. Everything and anything you need to know. Be prepared to take two weeks off from everything to read it all. But believe me, when you are done, you will have ALL your questions answered about your "deep sleep" issue. Happy reading!

That side install is for charging only, not for jumping a dead battery.
Totally would agree with a standard car jump start. A 12v outlet would in no way be able to supply the CCAs for a normal engine with a starter, fuel pump, and spark plugs, but my understanding with a hybrid is that the 12v battery simply needs to close the contacts between hybrid system and 12v system to allow the hybrid battery to start charging the 12v system. So, I thought maybe we wouldn't need so many CCAs. Alas, I'm probably wrong. Thanks for the input!
