That's not the same thing. 🙄 The workers did not ask for the factory to shut down, why shouldn't they get paid? It's not their fault Ford can't secure enough supplies! 🤑
So all employers should pay wages if they can not get supplies for an extended period of time. WOW!!! But you want to exempt yourself if say the person that cuts your yard lawn mower breaks but he can't get a part.

Your comparison is apples to oranges! I stated that I agreed that the workers should still get paid if Ford shutdown the factory because Ford didn't have supplies to run the factory. How is it the worker's fault? Just like many businesses over the last year or so paid their workers partial pay to keep them available and to help them until full work return. Ford doesn't want to lose its highly trained staff.. Why would I be obligated to pay the guy/gal who mows my yard because their mower broke down. Why should I be responsible for mower upkeep? Now if they showed to mow the yard and I told no because XYZ reasons then yes I should pay him/her full price or something for showing up at the agreed time, especially if I didn't try to reschedule before hand. The fact they're waiting on a part to repair the mower doesn't make responsible to pay them anything. Ford doesn't pay workers who don't show up for work no matter the reason (of course can take a paid off or sick time).
I'm not trying to start an argument about this, but to me the comparison between the factory workers getting paid and mower person not getting paid isn't the same thing.

I will accept the blame because I am having a fiesta at my home, and I invited the plant workers ;)

Just don't be so happy you get drunk, go the wrong way and crash head-on into a semi-truck.

But they are not working because of material shortages. Yet they are getting paid 75% of their wages.

If I am suppose to cut your grass but my lawn mower broke and I can not cut it, will you still pay me 75% of what you were suppose to pay me if I did?

Here is where the misunderstanding started. They are being paid 75% because of an agreement made during the factory shutdown. Someone else put the spin on it as if it was a permanent thing. I was refuting that notion, which is what I said above. Maybe it was unclear. Let me restate it.
The workers are off for a week due to material shortages, during that week they will be paid 75% of what they would normally make.

After that it went off in left field due to another poster. I think basically we understand the same thing. I can see where my original statement could have ben misinterpreted

There is a conspiracy theory born every day because some one only reads a snippet of the information available. Then they spread it like some sort of expert.
