You forgot the reason you disagree. Have you ever worked in a R&D department?
To be fair you brought a supposition with no real evidence. The Maverick has issues with things like CV axles which at this point in time shouldn't require a lot of r&d.

I don't see that in all brands. Me think you don't like EVs or the idea of them are likely taking the correlation to causation leap
I like EVs as driven by market demand. I was on the F150 lightning waiting list and I invested in a car battery technology company. My daily driver is a hybrid. But the mandates are aggressive and unrealistic given where the infrastructure and technology is. The aggressiveness of it makes it difficult to justify large R&D spend on traditional and hybrid vehicles. There's only so much money to go around. That's the thesis of my original comment.

Focus brings quality. Larger budgets brings quality. I've worked in R&D my whole career in the technology area including installing a system in Ford ann arbor. I know the impact of changes in direction in quality. This probably should have been in it's own thread as it's not directly related to the OP complaint.

Oh great....we got another poster pissing and moaning about EVs when they don't even daily one. Give me a break bro.

Get of the high horse and get back to reality. Do you also cry foul about oil and gas subsidies or airline subsidies or agriculture subsidies that make your travel and food cheaper.

That's what you get from my comments? Try reading them again without assuming i hate EVs and you might get closer to understanding my point.

We just need to go back to simplier times, back when people or at least some people didn't see you as an opportunity to get the most out of you.
Rose tinted glasses, there has never been a time like this in human history. 🤣

57 Model here! Once we took our drums and rotors in to get turned and returned to service. Radiators got pressure tested in a vat and repaired, or re-cored. The days of U-PICK junk yards before the entry fees and waivers to sign. Oh, and you could get a socket on any bolt under the hood!

Seems like a bit of a red herring. If he had a lot of problems with the Maverick and with Ford's response its They are reasonable for him to jump ship

It's funny The rotor thing came up about a month ago for me. I was putting new brakes on my wife's Honda CRV and I got they're mid-level rated rotor and pad package. And for what the rotors cost I determined it wasn't worth taking the old ones off, driving them somewhere to have them turned and then putting them back on assuming they were Even within spec and capable of that. The extra money for the new ones was minimal and if they couldn't turn them then I'd had to run out and buy them locally so it's not really worth it. Especially since it's her only car and I'm doing it on the weekend and wanting to get it back on the road.

Well finally the dealership fixed the second cv axel and my Maverick is no longer shaking while driving. I'm still not happy about the experience and don't feel the vehicle will turn out to be reliable long term but since I did end up calling Ford Corporate, I will say they did step in and try to make it right and they made my decision on whether I plan to keep it after the lease hard. They ended up giving me the Ford extended service plan of 7 year or 100,000 miles for free.

I still plan to go to a different brand after the Maverick, I think I'm pretty firm on that decision but if my buy out price is about $14,000 and everything will be covered for another 4 year after my lease that might be the cheapest way to go for a little while but I'm now starting to hear of people having oil leaking problems on the valve cover and by the rear main seal so still not sure.

Has anyone had experience with dealing with the expended service contract and Ford? They said I would have a $100 deductible but the service contract, from I understood what they were telling me, would cover everything mechanical after the 5 year/60k mile power train warranty, so basically another 2 years. My concern with the service contract is what is really covered because I heard people really having to fight to get things covered and they really used the term "wear" items loosely, such as gaskets being wear items and if something like the rear main seal is considered a wear item, I know that won't be cheap to fix.

Any input from service techs at dealerships or customers would be appreciated.

Edit, I just realized there were different plans for their ESP, I guess I'll have to wait floor the paper work to get in the mail, but they said it was about a $1700 value they they were giving me. I guess I could call Ford Corporate back, but don't want to be on hold forever....with the price point, would anyone know what level of plan that might calculate to?
Re your last paragraph, it's impossible to compare or know which plan they were referring to based on price, because different dealers charge different rates for the extended warranties. Prices are all over the map. They also vary according to current vehicle age and mileage.. The longer you own a vehicle, the more the extended warranties cost.

Have you had any experience with the ESP on the power train, specifically for things like leaks and needing gaskets replaced?
No. The only time I've ever had an extended warranty was on one of my old F-150s. The engine had a defect and had to be replaced at 42K. It was not covered by the regular warranty & I did not have an extended warranty at that point. Ford corporate let me buy an extended warranty for like $500. Then they replaced the engine for only the cost of deductible, which I think was $100. I never needed the extended warranty again, and had very very little trouble with the truck after that, in 22 years of ownership.

My '23 Hybrid has never needed a warranty repair in 15k miles, other than the software updates. And those have not caused any subsequent problem, unlike a few unfortunate people who have haven't fared so well.

Had 2 Prius. 12v battery lasted average of 3 years. I wouldn't judge not buying a Ford Maverick over battery maintenance ware item....... Sounds like someone doesn't like maintenance. Part of life. Get a EV if you don't like maintenance.

I thought the OP had issues, or possible issues, with his CV axles and with his Ford was handling the situation? That doesn't fall into the category of standard maintenance - not at his mileage anyway.
