Couple last questions for you Brad. I never reset those codes I got back in May. I did take pictures on the phone. Wonder if I should just go ahead and reset and see if they come back? I think Ford can get them back even if you reset, using FDRS (I think that is what it is called) also, only recalls showing for me are 24C01 (Instrument Panel ) and 24S27 (BCM calibration for taillights). Are these the ones you want to avoid or is there another one? Thanks.

It is the 24S27/24V293 that I have pending on both vehicles. I don't think the other one applied to the Lariats.
Given that Ford knows a whole lot more about where my truck is parked, etc., I'm sure you are right that even reset, Ford has a file on what has happened. Talk about your Big Brother! I'd reset the code just to see if it comes back. I know when I plugged the temp sensor and PAD back in, the codes remained until I removed them...then they never came back.

You 2 guys have been very helpful with the information that you put out for me and everyone else. I'm sure when the Mav arrives, I'll be checking back with you guys. One thing, would it be possible to post some pictures of the installed 12 volt socket and it connections. Thanks !!

What I did was to get a new, smaller 6-pin holder. The DEMCO supplied L-mount is too big and heavy. I have the lip stuck into the back of the grill, with a little felt tape to make it fit tightly. Then I mounted the socket upside down, spring at the bottom, and ground off part of the tab so it opens easily. Then I put some 3m VHB tape at the back to hold the socket bracket in place. Note that when inserting the umbilical cord, I hold the socket in place as I push...but when pulling it out (or the stress of a trip) it can't pull forward as the grill holds it. Not the most eloquent, but it works. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001GN6PMW/
https://www.amazon.com/57208-Connector-Socket-Mounting-Bracket/dp/B00537FDSY

I always buy the smaller breakaway switch, the one that comes with a light. https://www.amazon.com/Hopkins-20050-Breakaway-Switch-Wire/dp/B0049MKPSW/ I don't use the light, and in fact cut off that extra wire, but this is shorter than the other varieties. It has VHB tape holding it onto the baseplate, further back in from the safety chain hole. The plug will pull out easier than the tape will give way.

This time, I used a 4-way flat trailer light connector (for the ground, left, right and running lights) and a 2-way SAE connector (with one leg cut off) for the chargewire. These connectors are just inside the fascia. I did this so I could work with about 6" of wire into the back of the 6-pin on the workbench, getting all the wires to come out at a 90 degree angle, cutting the rubber sleeve out at one side at the back of the 6-pin and using tape to hold everything in its place. Then it was a simple matter to mount the socket and plug it in, instead of fighting short wires while sitting on the floor.

There are other ways, but demco screwed the pooch on wiring and left it for us to figure out, individually. Here's the Demco "finished" product from their literature. Notice what's missing?

I was just on the phone with the people doing the install and wiring for my Mav. They informed me that I will need an adapter between the Blue Ox tow bar and the Demco baseplate. Is this accurate info. Also I'm going to on your advice have a separate 12V socket installed for my electric brake. Thanks again.

Yes. There are adaptors, usually 50-100. I have a roadmaster falcon2 towbar and use a roadmaster rm034 adaptor plate. I don't know the blue ox parts.

Thanks all for the replies. I also have the Demco baseplate on my 24 Mav Lariat Hybrid and the install was fairly easy thanks to @BradnChristine documentation. I just need to finish up the wireless emergency breakaway, charge line and full time 12 volt socket for the RVIBrake3 and I should be good to go. Still trying to figure out what nuts fit those posts under the hood. An M8 1.25 MM would not go on. I have an assortment of nuts coming from Amazon so will see what fits.
For the Demco baseplate install I did notch the air dams, cut back a couple of plastic tabs on each side to allow the lower mounting holes to line up and removed, not cut two of the lower shutter vanes. They can be reinstalled if necessary. Then just applied the included blue locktite to each nut and bolt and torqued to specs. 30lbs on lower bolts and 50 lbs on upper bolts.

I do not use any adapter with my Blue Ox tow bar.

Finished up my Demco baseplate install this weekend. Pretty happy the way it turned out.

Demco baseplate has been installed and the Mav has been wired. Adapters are NOT to connect with the Blue Ox tow bar. Question, what electric brake system inside the truck are you guys using? I have the Blue Ox and I'm wondering if I should look into something else that's designed for the Hybrids regenerative brakes

I'm a flat tow newbie, with exactly 1 round trip on my set up. I went w rvibrake shadow system, so far its been great. You can find write ups on this forum on mechanical system like ready brute, various portables like patriot and brake buddies, and the full integrated stuff like stay- in-play duo, air force one and rvibrake shadow. I went w the brake shadow because it had a more integrated package, the break away and 12v charge line are included and plug right in.
