OK, so my first oil change was at 2200 miles, and my ford app is stating performing another one at 2200 miles. Is this going to be the norm for the vehicles life span? Or is these just the break in changes?

How long did it take you to drive the 2200 miles?OK, so my first oil change was at 2200 miles, and my ford app is stating performing another one at 2200 miles. Is this going to be the norm for the vehicles life span? Or is these just the break in changes?
There you go. Time and mileage are included in those estimates. Ford recommends going no longer than a year between oil changes.... so yours is based on time, rather than mileage.Almost a year
For reference, from owners manual:Almost a year
From the owner's manual:For reference, from owners manual:
...hybrid vehicles could exceed 10,000 mi (16,000 km).
...
Never exceed one year or 10,000 mi (16,000 km) between oil change intervals.
There have been many discussions including on this forum about changing oil based on time. Mechanics I have spoken with do not think modern oils break down from time and they recommend replacing oil based on mileage. Not to say Ford would not like your dollars and recommend changing oil every year.
I did the first change with about 1100 miles in September 2023 and now the app is saying I need another change at about 3100 miles in September. Seems like the app is driven by dealer profit more than the condition of my truck and engine. The truck gets very easy use around town with light hauling only and no towing yet and it is parked in a garage every night.I agree that time does not affect modern oil. Oil itself never deteriorates, but the additives do. Other than a 2500 mile break in, I am going to go with the mileage. If one feels better with the time a time quotient, then that is what that one should go by.
I did note that contradiction in owner's manual as well. From the owner's manual:
"...hybrid vehicles could exceed 10,000 mi (16,000 km)."
It's not a contradiction in the owner's manual. It's a difference with hybrid, and obviously potential ICE usage.I did note that contradiction in owner's manual as well.
I wouldn't go more than 10K miles between oil changes in my hybrid though!
