Technically true, but I also believe it will auto-shutoff the ignition after half an hour of idling.
Not true on XL models, can leave it running for hours, but I do not have much of a problem with theft on my Ranch. And I am also near by with a large ranch dog. The dog sneaks inside to sleep on the backseat in the A/C comfort most of the time.

Most 12v frigs are well insulated. Turn it to the highest cooling and not worry about 30-40 minutes with it off while in the store. Should pre cool it anyway the night before at home. i have left mine running since 1999 mostly for freezing water bottles. Only worry about power outages.

My 2022 does not shut off.
I do not remember changing any settings.

Maybe you are confusing this with the 30 minutes only allowed to be in "Neutral" without entering Neutral tow (Toad) mode.
Depends on whether your 30 minute idle in park limit option in settings is on or off, might be lariat only. I just know that after an update mine started to shut off at 30 minutes if I left it in ready state but it will run longer if someone is sitting in truck.

Back when I was having low 12v battery issues I left the key to run for several hours inside a gated work lot. It did not really help the 12v. But the truck never shut off. And with low demands on the system the engine only ran a minute every 45 min or so.

Back when I was having low 12v battery issues I left the key to run for several hours inside a gated work lot. It did not really help the 12v. But the truck never shut off. And with low demands on the system the engine only ran a minute every 45 min or so.
Yes, I checked my XLT LUX and the 30 minute idle limit was not on it. It is on lariat. The extended run time on battery charging will only bring the voltage to the BMS allowed. The BMS adjusts charging based on battery conditions and also based on installation date. Etc. if battery becomes sulfated then battery can get to 12.6 volts or ? But reserve capacity is greatly reduced. I have increased my resting voltage 0.1-0.2 volts by leaving my Noco gen 5 maintainer on the jump posts for a week. When I was running ice for 1-1.5 hours about every 4th day my resting would get to around 12.3-12.4. as I've said before I had a Honda crv 2012 which would eat a larger batter than mav in 30-36 months. They for mpg reasons would delay charging for several minutes on start up. The work around was to leave running light and cabin fan on low to reduce the voltage on the bus to the "charge the battery" level which would then raise the bus voltage to 14.4+! Get about 42-46 months. Started putting Noco gen 5 on battery for 4-5 days quarterly and that battery was still working at 63+ months. Still with DRL & fan on.

I have a 2023 hybrid. When I stop for any length of time I plug my cooler into the 12 volt side of my power station. When I return home I plug the power station into my solar cells.
