The only grief I get is from a guy here at work that has an old F250. And only because I say we're brothers because we both have big old Ford pick-ups.
Start taking pictures of the Maverick with "heavy payloads" in the bed....like a couple containers of peanut butter from Costco. Then show him at work while talking about the hard working Maverick. Be dead serious when doing it.
The other day I showed him my Mav full of crap, literally. Two big tractor scoops (maybe half a ton) of horse manure compost. I made a gap filler for between the bed/tailgate which helps.
Wow it's down right sexy!Literally had someone yesterday say “that’s not a truck, it’s basically a Honda”. A shrugged it off, as I know it checks all the boxes for me and today I’m going 90 miles to pick up a huge vintage dresser and bring it back. All while my seat heaters are on, and getting 25-30 mpg.

I have only received compliments and genuine interest in-person and online. I think some people in-person are just being nice, but I've already had people comment about how much they like the truck in just under a week of owning it. It's been mostly positive. I think a lot of this will depend on where you live, and who your friend group is. I could absolutely see more toxic super-truck fanatics eschewing the Mav and going out of their way to harass-- but I just laugh at them, as they're burning though 2-4 times as much gas and 2-3 times the up-font cost compared to the Maverick (and all while struggling to fit into a single parking space).
We have a guy at work who takes up 4 parking spots for his f350 Dually. I don't understand why he doesn't park it on the parameter and hang the bumper and hitch over the grass?

I had one person tell me "it looks like one of those little R/C trucks." Everyone one else either likes it, or asks how I like it because they are interested.
