Anyone else getting grief over the Maverick?

Only grief I got was from everyone in the parking lot where I work watching me having to "start" my new Maverick with a Noco about once or twice a week.

That, and the fact that I had to opt out of the "clean energy event" car show at a national lab because mine was at the Ford dealership for five weeks.

I can't imagine giving two flips about the uneducated opinions of total strangers on the internet. They have nothing invested, and nothing on the line; the ONLY one that has to consider whether or not my truck is adequate for me is me...

That said, I don't hang out much on social media - but I have noticed "big" trucks like to crowd me in parking lots. I guess they like to make their truck seem even bigger. Cool, cool...

I had one Assaholic park his oversize truck so close to mine I had to get in from the passenger side. When he was a child, his parents forgot to teach him how to wipe himself.................

You only hear of the "Squeeky Wheel" cases! I'VE HAD MINE SINCE December '21 and Love it, only had a couple of recalls and 1 small problem. My tailgate cables were 2 different lengths, the dealer replaced one and all is good. I had several older Rangers (80's & 90's) and think the Mav is better. 4 door, more power, the bed features make it just about as good as the old Rangers and it's fun to drive! What else do I need? 69 years old and it's just right for me!

That's my fault. I threw a laptop into the monkey cage at the zoo and it didn't take them long to get on FB. I didn't report it to the zookeeper because I didn't think any humans were still on FB.

When I was working 2 or my co-workers drives big trucks. They told me that's not a truck and what am I'm going to do when we get a snow storm since I don't have 4 wheel drive. I told them I really don't care and if we get a snow storm, I'm staying home....end of story.

Only my wife, haha. Everyone else thinks it’s great. My wife was raised in a Chevy family (FIL was a contractor), and she calls it my baby truck. She knows I can handle it - it’s all in good fun.

If anyone else makes a dumb comment about it in the future, I’ll likely look at them like they’re growing a toe out of their face.

Absolutely, there is a little bit of grief cuz it's still newish. Obviously I got dogged by during the 443 wait. Since delivery, coal rolled once and cut off many times. Real life consequences is what I care about, I'm not on facebook.

But we're human and notice the headwinds more than the tailwinds. Plenty of love for the Maverick in the wild. Even my buddy with a stock 1997 Toyota Land Cruiser 40th anniversary edition (that he bought for 10k) has come around on Mav. Not that I even care, cuz I'm diggin' it, it's summer and that's the best season with the oxford white.

Literally had someone yesterday say “that’s not a truck, it’s basically a Honda”. A shrugged it off, as I know it checks all the boxes for me and today I’m going 90 miles to pick up a huge vintage dresser and bring it back. All while my seat heaters are on, and getting 25-30 mpg.

Big truck guys are funny once you recognize who and what they are. They smirk and shake their heads theatrically but if you look in the bed of their truck it's empty.

Yes I've seen it also.i think it's because it's a small truck,hence it's not a " real" truck.also,maybe because of all the recalls and issues when it was brand new, especially with the hybrid,it may have gotten a bad rap. We love our ecoboost so far,even though it's the " Nickelback" of trucks

Some of that might be the tone of the post and where you're posting. Putting it on a Tesla page would be less than great. Saying it's the strongest pickup every would be dumb.

My friends have said only awesome things about it.

The first week I had mine I had walked out of fedex and there was a hick in a clapped out Chevy staring me down and he pulls up next to me and starts telling me I look like some kind of " fu**ing English aristocrat c**t" and that I "better not be on the wrong side of the fence". Never seen this guy in my life before this moment and had just barely walked out of the building and got to my car. Not sure what he meant by that, but I politely gave him the bird and drove off lol.

He was straight up jealous!
