So I'm going on vacation in a little over a week (flying, not driving). After seeing all the posts here and on FB about people having issues with their trucks going into battery saving mode, I'm a little concerned about my 2024 Lariat Hybrid being parked for that long.

The manual talks about disconnecting the battery or using a trickle charger for vehicles being stored longer than 30 days. Should I be worried? Anyone have any experience to share about their truck being parked for 15ish days? I could easily disconnect the battery, although losing all my settings will be a pain. I've had it almost month and just got everything set right! 🙂

I just returned from a 10-day trip where my Maverick was parked at airport and had no issues when I returned.

In steering wheel menu I saw a max idle time of 30 minutes apparently got changed during an update as originally it would idle for an hour or maybe more. Would be a safety factor to insure shutoff happens. I have never used Ford pass so am unaware of repetitive procedures.

Remote start is a great idea. I would highly recommend a $50 jumpstarter pack too. Mine sits under my rear seat next to my air compressor.

Battery Tender Jr connected to the posts under the hood, if you have it parked where you can plug it in. Have my '23 plugged in when it is in my garage, sometimes for 10 days. Have had it for 11 months. No battery problems so far.

I have parked my maverick for over a month before several times. After a few weeks it will go into deep sleep mode. That just turns off the app and internet connectivity. But had no problem starting it when I got back or having the key fob working to unlock it.

Near the beginning I would start it remotely from time to time but now just let it go.

Have a 2022 with 41k miles. And no issues having it parked long times.

Appreciate the comments. The truck will parked under carport, not the garage. Feeling better knowing several of you have had yours parked for longer with no issues.

I have had mine parked for 2 1/2 months. It will go into sleep mode after 4-5 days. It starts fine when I get back to it. The ceiling lights do not light up when I enter the cab and start the first time. Everything else seems to work as normal. After driving for a while, the ceiling lights will work normally when entering the truck. You will be fine leaving your truck for a couple weeks.

Yeah those things are great and there's no reason not to have one.

You will have no issues. I only have 4,000 miles on mine and I have had it for 2 years. That tells you how little I drive it. Still on the same battery and still starts. Yes it is in deep sleep most of the colder months but so far so good!

My '24 hybrid has 4,000 miles on it. It is parked in a garage when not out getting 42-48mpg. But I digress. I am noticing that the battery saver feature engages sooner and sooner if I don't drive it for 3 days.

I am facing what you are facing when I leave on vacation. I do not believe starting it to idle is a good idea, particularly if it is parked in a garage. My plan is to attach a trickle charger under the hood. I'm going to do a trial run this week to insure this won't have unintended consequences like burning my house and garage down. ;)

As a vehicle mechanic for 25-years, I would highly recommend simply disconnecting the negative terminal while you’re away. At most you’ll have to set the clock but you’ll be fine otherwise. I committed the “mistake” of not disconnecting the batteries on all three of our cars when we parked them for extended periods during 2020 when we were all stuck at home, I ended up buying three new batteries (not fun) so from then on this is what I’ve done and haven’t had issues since. By the way, idling the engine weekly won’t solve the low charge problem.
