Picked up my 2024 Hybrid XLT last night. Woo Hoo!! Anyway, at the dealer they said I HAD to sign up for Ford Pass. Im 65, so, I said sure, there (at the dealer), but today, looking at all of the threads on this, sorry Henry (Ford) but what your offering me is not worth it to me. So, I see the threads about pulling fuse # 11, and my question...is this still the same for the 2024 Hybrids? The owners manual showing the fuse locations only reference as a PCM.

Also, if anyone has any other suggestions, please advise. I did go to the ford pass, deleted the vehicle and then deleted the account, and lastly removed the app. Anything I am missing?

Lastly, I NEVER paired the truck to the phone.

Again, any comments/suggestions greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Don't you have to pair to the truck to get your reward points?

Fuse 11 in the Body Control Module fuse box, not the Under Hood fuse box.

I might add this is the fuse box in the passenger foot well. My early '24 owner's manual has it listed as telematics.
Not installing or using Ford Pass may help prevent the dreaded "deep sleep " issues in addition to thwarting "Big Brother" ever so slightly. I have not installed Ford Pass and pulled fuse 11. So far no issues in almost seven months with only 2800 miles.

Ford does not require you to sign up for Ford Pass. Depending on their exact words, they lied to you. Ford doesn’t require it, but the dealer might. Their motivation is that your salesperson and maybe the dealer my get a slight ding (based on percentage of sign ups) from Ford if they don’t convince you to install the app and pair your phone.

Before you pull the fuse, you might want to go into the center screen menu and switch the modem to “off”. I don’t know if it makes any difference, but my thinking is that if the software thinks that the modem is on, but the fuse is pulled, the software may keep trying to connect and use considerable electrical power trying to use the dead modem.

Yes, you do. Some of us think that leaving $200 on the table is worth it to avoid creepy electronic stalking. Others want the added functionality and see it as free bonus money.

Just one data point here, but I never installed Ford Pass, never activated or accepted the modem and telematics TOS, never paired or connected my phone to the truck, and I still have the deep sleep issue. Even after replacing the OEM battery with a $230 Die Hard Gold T4.

For me the only deep sleep inconvenience is that the dome lights don’t come on, and the 12v power points cut off the moment the truck is turned off and I exit the truck. I have a bare bones XL, so I don’t know if key fob remote start would be affected.

I had the same Die Hard. Bought it before I was informed that our trucks are set for AGM batteries. Bought an AGM H5 680 CCA on 05/11/24. Still get sleep messages but the battery recovers faster.

The last and final step is to have a wonderful fellow MaverickTruckClub member who lives in the SoCal area and has Forscan to change my charge rate from 80% to 95%.

That should finally eliminate the sleep messages. Even if it does, having a higher charge rate ensures that my battery will get charged regularly. And someone in here has stated that AGM batteries charge back up faster than flooded.

Deep sleep is something that only affects you when you use the Ford Pass app. It just detects the battery is below a certain amount and shuts off the telemetrics to conserve power. so you are not able to use the APP. you are pulling a fuse to prevent something that will only affect you if you use the app that you are not planning on using the app so it is rather pointless. you can shut off the modem and leave the fuse in for that matter. but as the truck has a GPS install and you can find your truck if ever stolen, by using the telemetrics, I say leave them on, unless you are worried about FORD spying on you. what could they get, location, truck issues, radio channels you listened to... none of that is important to me. I've had my truck for a year. never had a battery issue, but if I happen to look at my Ford Pass app ( which I hardly use) I do see a few times Deep Sleep when I don't drive daily. just means that the app and the truck don't communicate. if I go to my truck 2 days later and start it, it starts just fine.

Deep sleep affects more than just app functionality. As mentioned it also disables items like the dome light when opening the door, IntelliKey unlocking for the passenger door on Lariat, the IC/Radio booting up on door open, and the timers for post-shutdown power such as the USB ports and bed lighting.

That's what I thought. The truck does a heck of alot of "clicking and clacking" long after shutdown.

Hello, and congrats on your new Maverick. I have 2023 Mav XLT and have had #11 pulled since I have owned her. When I go in for recalls, or anything else my awesome/outstanding service rep knows the fuse is pulled and in the glove box. They pop it in then put it back in the glove box when done. The best. Never had had issue with the Mav having the fuse pulled.

For my truck, turning on the Ford Pass for a week or two yielded $221 Ford points credit (for purchase of truck) which I used toward buying the OE bed mat and some extended warranty on my Super Duty. Hated leaving that kind of money on the table. Once the points were debited off my Ford Pass account, I promptly deactivated FP and removed app from my phone. I hate being “the product” and not be compensated.
But as others have mentioned on this forum, I also pulled the #11 fuse in passenger foot well. Too convenient not to do.

well in the two years I had the Mav I had not had those issues.
now on my old 2020 Escape hybrid, that one had Deep sleep issues where I had to jump it a few times. but not once have I had that issue with the Mav, even if I don't drive for 5 days and then go out there.
granted I do not go to the passenger door. I keep the dome light off ( I live in Florida, a dome light and an open door invites 30 mosquitoes into the car, but I never had the issue with times for USB Ports of the Radio Screen.
In fact, it has been 3 days since I have driven and the truck is still not in deep sleep mode. just checked the App
