Have a 24 XLT hybrid. Less than 3k on it. Everything has been perfect until today. Went to hop in to go pick up dinner, put the key in and get an odd dinging I don't recognize, won't start, and get about a dozen different error codes on the dash. Everything from the fuel door, collision warning, brakes, etc. Won't start, won't show "ready". Tried leaving it for a few and coming back, same thing. Won't lock/unlock from the fob either. I have seen a few things saying battery issues or deep sleep mode but I drove it perfectly fine to work yesterday so I wouldn't think either of those would apply. Has anyone else seen this?

Hi there! Will you send us a message with your VIN and your local Ford dealer? I can look into things on my end.

Well I ended up scheduling service at the local dealer. Ford roadside to come pick it up. They showed up and threw a jump box on it and it was showing 7v. Was able to get it started and it charged like normal. No idea what killed it though. Tow truck driver said he has seen this many times and that when the app updates it kills the battery as it tries to connect and stays on forever. Sounds like a dumb reason but also very plausible. Spoke to the dealer and all they said is "put some miles on it".

Too bad the Mav hybrid doesn't keep the 12V battery charged like Toyota's Synergy Drive Hybrid. They use a DC-to-DC converter, to recharge the 12 volt auxiliary battery.

I had an extra Smart-shunt and used it to keep an eye on my Maverick's battery as I towed it around the last couple weeks. It really behaves strangely, as I have a charge wire connected to it. The readout from the shunt (attached at the jump terminal and ground under the hood varied from 12.03 to 12.94 while towing it around.

Ford really should put out a battery system owner's manual. The charging/maintaining behavior is impossible to understand.
