Hi everyone,

With the hybrid drivetrains I’ve been seeing people push out their oil changes to 10k+ miles. While the newer synthetics may indeed be lasting longer, oil changes are usually the few times most are actually looking at the underbelly of their cars.

I was raised old school to change all the fluids early, and I got lucky this time. 2,000 miles on a 2.5L hybrid, and I noticed I’m already leaking transmission fluid and oil. I expect bad craftsmanship from Ford but this takes the cake.

Do yourself a favor and check/change your fluids early, you never know what else you’ll find during routine maintenance.

Great tip. We don’t live in a perfect world, so I don’t ‘blame’ Ford too much for an occasional blip. My 2017 Silverado had to have the oil pan replaced at first service due to a leak too. Happens, but the reports on this forum are priceless.

Good morning. Would you please send over a private message with your VIN and dealer info so I can look into your leaking transmission concern on my end?

I park in the same spot day after day.
I have seen zero drips on the ground.
I have no reason to go under my truck at this point. When/If I do, sure , I'm going to look around at everything.
Don't you have a giant splash shield under there that would catch any drips so that you never see them on the ground? Unless you removed it, you do. Just sayin......be careful trusting the ground under your truck when it comes to leaks.

Update for the anyone seeing this in the future, dealership was unable to fix the issue so far. At this point they are considering a new transmission.
Thanks for the update. Keep us posted.

It's full of holes. Per recall notice 23-456789678-TSB

Touche! Ha! I think you identified the one reasonable use case for them cutting all those holes. I question the efficacy of the holes to stop a fire if one wants to start under there. But that is just me.
