Hi everyone,
With the hybrid drivetrains I’ve been seeing people push out their oil changes to 10k+ miles. While the newer synthetics may indeed be lasting longer, oil changes are usually the few times most are actually looking at the underbelly of their cars.
I was raised old school to change all the fluids early, and I got lucky this time. 2,000 miles on a 2.5L hybrid, and I noticed I’m already leaking transmission fluid and oil. I expect bad craftsmanship from Ford but this takes the cake.
Do yourself a favor and check/change your fluids early, you never know what else you’ll find during routine maintenance.
