Leaking oil & coolant after 30 miles

I just saw this thread, and the time from 0 (do nothing) - 100 (new engine!) was breathtaking.

On the Mexican build issue, there is definitive evidence that vehicles assembled in Mexico have greater problems than elsewhere. My wife drives a Tiguan, manufactured in Wolfsburg, Germany. The same model year ('16) saw production in the U.S. (Alabama?) and Mexico at the time. The repair histories showed that the Wolfsburg vehicles had the fewest issues, followed by the American ones, then Mexico in last place.

That said, her Tiguan had a loose door on it right after we started driving it, and when we took it to the dealer, the guy grabbed a giant wrench and just cranked the bolts. I had the impression he had been doing that quite a bit.

All that proves is the Germans are stronger than the Mexicans.

Yes sir! I will definitely call in the morning and check on the status. I will tell them I have been heavily advised to enquire about a new engine as well. Thank you!

I think you should ask for the new engine but if you have to wait for an engine as long as were waiting for these trucks God Bless you! I would get it in writing for an additional warranty period to cover the engine as second best!

Good afternoon!

Someone canceled their order for an XL 2.5L Hybrid 4 days ago, and I was lucky enough to snag it up with only 20 miles on it. I love this truck so much! Literally the perfect vehicle for me, and I love getting 42+ MPG.

However, I saw a puddle when I got home, but I thought maybe it was from using the AC. Yesterday, at 180 miles, I realized it was leaking a ton of oil & coolant. Leaving puddles at my house and office. Also, smelt oil from the cab when I had the fan on.

I checked the dipstick, it was at the very bottom. I took it to my Ford dealer today, they said it was coming from the back of the engine (Head gasket?). They gave me a loaner vehicle and said they would keep me updated on repairs.

Sorry for the bad photos, I originally took a video, but not sure how to upload it.

Not really sure what to think! Any opinions?

I don't think I did any damage, but just hoping I didn't get a lemon.
