Power outlet in bed fitting question

I want to put outlet(s) in the bed but don't want to use the cubby doors or inside the cubbys. I'm using them for storage.

Does anyone know if a single marine power outlet (cig lighter style) that will fit in the piece I have circled? Anyone have a part #?

As soon as I posted this I thought maybe I could figure it out by measuring. Duh!

The link I posted shows 1.4" OD and the part that gets inserted only 1".

Measuring between the molded guides on the back side of that panel is ~ 1.8".

I'm thinking good to go. Here's hoping this post will help someone else!

I had my tailgate hole plug (that didn't sound right) printed at the UofA (Bear down!) for about $2.

I'd double-check that width number. I just popped one out, it's a lot closer to 1-3/8"-1.4". The hex on my Blue Sea outlet is a snug fit.

No, you're not missing anything. Most folks would never miss it.

For $10 and a few minutes to put it together I figure it's better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

I'm thinking of going crazy and putting USB A and C in the other side. But I'll need another pig tail.

You're right!!! WTH was I measuring?!?! It's more like 1 1/4".

Luckily the file that Richard was kind enough to link to will 3D print with the correct size hole.

Idiot proof! Of course as soon as you start thinking that way they make a better idiot.

Sorry I dont have a better pic but I just got the simplest most basic one at either autozone or oreilleys. I used a pair of wire snips to cut the plastic structuring off of the back of the cover. Then drilled the hole with a harbor freight step drill bit until it was a nice screw in tight fit. It has a little flap but it usually has the plug for my fridge in it. Only issue is the cover itself is a little easy to pull out so sometimes you have to pop it back in. If you twist the plug as you pull it out it stays put. On the opposite side I put in a flush pushbutton for the cargo lights.

Any parts store that has a good accessories section should have what ya need. A truck stop is a good place to look too. Here is one on amazon like the one i have.

This one is interesting in that it may be a perfect fit to replace the whole panel.

Might have to use bolts like these. Found at any hardware store.

I merely drilled a hole in the cover the same size as the outlet I wanted to connect. Have had no issues in 2 years.
