I just got a quote from a dealership.

I was trying to make an order Maverick Hybrid 24 with copilot 360, Trailer hitch.

the dealer gave me a quote:

MSRP $ 25420
Vehicle protection plan $ 995
options $ 750
Destination charges $ 1595
Acquisition Fee $ 645
non tax fee $245
etc..

so I remember OTD(edited) was $32,500.

I said I have plan to pay with cash and TOD expectation was around $30,000.
The dealer did not mention those fees until I visit their office.
and she said they are non negotiable to order new maverick.

I understand there is TTL, but I do not know about Vehicle protection plan and non tax fee
Are they mandatory fees? or just hidden fee or ADM?

They are charging you for dealer-added options (vehicle protection plan?) and extra dealer profit (acquisition fee). I'd find another dealer that plays it straight. I'd like to know what the "non-tax fee" is; doc fee, maybe? Anyway, this doesn't sound like a reputable dealer.

The $995 is almost certainly bogus. Tell them you're not paying it, and if they have already applied the magic unicorn juice to the interior fabrics or whatever, too bad. Tons of dealers in HTX.

No clue what a "non tax fee" is, but personally that is getting into small-enough numbers that I can let them have it as long as there's a good explanation. There might be a valid cost, or might not be. Hard to tell based on what's here.

Everything else seems repeatable on the Ford website.

I found this dealership from Honest dealership list from this forum.
This dealership has 'Good' report in their area.

The dealer said the protection plan is applied all vehicle order by the dealership, charged to safe and security purpose of your vehicle, and anti thief insurance package.
I told the dealer I won't pay what I do not know. and I left the dealership.

If I remember correctly, the acquisition fee that shows up on the Ford website assumes a lease rather than a purchase. It shouldn't be there for anyone who isn't leasing.

Could be. I never noticed it when I built trucks for me, but for giggles I built the cheapest XL the other day to answer the guy who wanted a $20k truck (lol) and saw it.

If it's a lease thing, in theory it should be the easiest of those fees to get them to knock off.

I don't doubt it. Just remember how subjective that can be.... One person's enemy can be another person's best friend. On the other end of the spectrum - the dealer I bought from is rated 1.5 stars on Yelp, and after shopping there, I agree 100%. 🤣

Dealerships change hands sometimes, so you'll want to make sure that hasn't happened here. They could also have a new sales manager looking to boost his bonuses. Who knows? The items quoted (protection plan and acquisition fee) as mandatory would make me find another dealer.

I bought mine as a refused order when there were literally no Mavericks, EB or Hybrid, on dealers lots for more than a day or two (October 2021) and my dealer didn't add a single thing that wasn't on the sticker or a normal, routine fee (doc fee, tax, and title).

I have a dumb question,

Is a XL model doesn't have smart key ?

I believe only the Lariat has it. My XLT doesn't have it.

Go to other dealer in area, bring quote. See who wants your biz. Best deal would be msrp or price plus tax , reg, and maybe up to $400 doc/admin fee. Nothing else is required. Timing helps, is it in stock?
