Ok, this happened while driving on the 5 freeway in South OC yesterday around 4pm pacific time. I could not, I repeat, I could not get my camera out fast enough or safely to take a picture while going 70mph. The truck was a Maverick. The front end looked like the mock pictures I have seen. The tailgate had the Maverick stamping. As he passed me it DID have a large screen for the infotainment system. The rims were different from any Bronco or Maverick I have seen. The bed area was covered with some type of cloth covering to cover the tonneau cover. Don't know why. It was heavily taped down to keep the cover from flapping. It had a dealer license plate. Once the driver saw I was looking at him he sped up to pass me.

So, from what I saw, this just might be a 2025 mock up going to a dealer. It definitely was NOT a 2024.

I highly doubt it, but it could be possible as they are built at Hermosillo.

I see a lot of pre-production test mules from Honda and Acura (live about 15 minutes from their plant and R&D facility) and I have seen quite a few domestic test mules from the Big 3 when driving up north.

They have all been heavily camouflaged and the vehicle operator (on a public road) was not at all concerned with the attention they were receiving.

Somebody in SoCal got video of Kia’s midsize truck this week so it could be true.

It could be true. I saw the new Ford ranger raptor at the dealership recently. The new 2025 Ranger resembles the Maverick MUCH more than the 2024 Ranger does. But if you say it said Maverick on the back, maybe it was !

I'll be a bit jealous over the new screen NOT because it is bigger but because I am assuming it will be brighter, clearer and offer more features. What I am NOT going to feel jealous over will be what my truck will now cost over what I paid for my '23. I'm guessing at least 5 grand more than the 30.6 I paid.

I live outside of Detroit and we see a variety of camo vehicles on the roads...even the occasional autonomous pickup and step-van with all the LiDAR and camera pods onboard...but haven't seen a camo Maverick yet (which I still hope to see; they're made in Hermosillo but they're engineered in Dearborn). I have friends who drive camos for a contractor and they've promised to let me know when/if they get to test-drive one. Hey, it could happen!

The Maverick has quickly become overpriced.

I think you mean 2023 and 2024. If you've seen a 2025 ranger can you buy me a lotto ticket? 😆

I figured I would get a lot of flack because I didn't take pictures. But trust me, trying to do that at 70mph, switching lanes to follow him, using a cell phone while driving on the freeway..........wasn't worth it. You guys will have to take my word for it. Or not. I saw what I saw. I'm trying to find the mock up photos of the 25 version for the front end. The infotaiment system was like this that I say in this video.

The front appeared to look like the 2024 tremor package, but the rear end definitely had the "hybrid" emblem.

My main reason for it not being a 2024 is the infotainment system I saw.
