Non-Hybrid Ecoboost 2.0 AWD MPG

After gently driving around town for the last month and a half since I got the truck and averaging 26 MPG (auto-stop-start off), I finally performed a one hour round trip on the interstate. It seems that highway speeds in the 50's would help MPG, but driving over 70 hit a limit of a little over 29 MPG, same as the EPA rating for highway. This is based on the instrument panel readout, which was rather sensitive with little mileage since gas fill-up and reset. Maintaining speed with the speed control when climbing hills (those outside central Florida would not call these hills) was especially affecting MPG, and apparently the truck does not have an overdrive gear. Darn it, I failed to look at the tachometer. I am really pleased with the ride and quietness of the truck both around town and on the highway, much better than our Honda CR-V.

If I were to drive mine 50 mph I would probably get over 40 mpg since I average 35+ at 65.

This was driving back from Sykora Family Ford in the city of West, TX after having a complete reset and reflash software mostly to solve radio lock up problems. 18 mile trip on I 35, cruise set at 65 traffic had just caused the cruise control to slow me down to 60. Last Friday night I made me weekly trip to Temple Texas and averaged 40 mpg on the round trip mostly 65 to 70 on the cruise control. I have checked the dash mpg readout a couple of times with fill ups and found it to be with in .5mpg both times. Mine is AWD with the 4K tow package,.
