Dave, all of us old timers feel you pain. I don't know what you are looking for, but I bought the "low end" BBS wheels (the SX model) at under $300 each at Tire Rack. I considered the $1200 a good deal when I saw that other wheels were $1200 EACH. Back in my day, you could buy a damn nice CAR for $1200!!

1st car and i was 15 years old..lol 63 murcury comet 75 buck and it ran good... later on . 66 galaxy 500 7 litre 500 bucks.. and NO one beat me on the road.. 429 engine 4 speed possi from the factory... So yes I am stuck in the La Brea Tar Pits ..lol

Agreed. You will find sales in here for a good price. But, yes, the days of $50 after market rims is long gone!

I paid $139.00 each Canadian for these rims. Isn't that about the same $50.00 US?

Like "I hate Speedbumps" said (Post #25) I too have Michelin Defender tires 235/60/18 on Mustang Mach E wheels. They are the best tire out there (my 4th set, various vehicles). Over 100K each set. I found the wheels on local Cragislist for $300. My 18" Bronze wheels also from Craigslist $300. Plenty of stock XLT or Bronco sport wheels available, just search around and be patient.

As for some of my other post, I am still looking for wheels to replace my steelies on my 2024 XL. Remind me not to call Ford parts.. lol Do people really pay this amount? I know I can buy non Ford nice wheels starting at under 200 each. Am I missing something? Please educate me. lol

Sadly, that's what some OE wheels cost. I don't know why it is, if it has something to do with the fact that they've had to design and actually test their wheels for compliance to government standards or what, but they're often ridiculously expensive.
And it's probably also their standard markup on outside supplied parts as they don't actually produce the wheels themselves.

If you're set on an OE design, check out Detroit Wheel. They often have packages available and sometimes with non-factory offered OE style finishes. I've used them before for a wheel that wasn't available from Ford at the time and it was an excellent product, looked like new and shipped fast. I'd say many of the wheels are probably take-offs, so they're basically new without the OE cost.

Most manufacturers I've ever worked for had their sensors all at about the same list price, $84 each. Of course, there's a model here or there which are an exception, but those are few and far between. I suggest that if a dealer's selling a TPMS for anything over that price they're most likely doing so with a very generous markup beyond the OE list and should be avoided for anything but warranty work. ....and even then, there's some dealerships that I'd avoid for even that too.

I've not worked at a dealership that sells over the counter at anything but manufacturer list -- even despite the owners demand to sell everything at an inflated price; those of us doing the job just won't do it, you'd never sell anything. After all, you can easily go online and find the prices, so why be so greedy when you're raking people in the shop already.

* For those of you that are veterans, first of all, "Thank You!" Don't be hesitant to ask about a veteran's discount. I'd also say if you're a first responder, too. Some dealerships will extend a discount for your service too.

Dealers know that they gotcha - if youi need a factory replacement then it's either locate a used one or pony up for a new one from them. Add to that dealers know if it's an insurance claim the ins co will likely come thru and pony up.
