Thats awesome. The market never blew up quite that aggressively north of the border haha but im happy for you. If you sold yours a year ago why are you in this forum still šŸ˜‚
I was one of the first to get the hybrid version delivered here in Ohio. So I do have some time invested in the vehicle and sharing experiences owning it. Just because I sold this one does not mean I won't get another one someday especially if they ever come out with a EV or PHEV version.

Since the demand for the Maverick is still high the value will still be high. It's still the best time. Once there's many Maverick's out there on the lot and the other small trucks start to show, value may go down.

Congrats on your new Kia. Be careful with insurance I heard they're more expensive than normal due to being more prone to theft....but I heard they improved.

I always wondered why people treat the forums like an airport and feel the need to announce their departure.
I cannot speak for the OP, but internet forms sometimes feel, to me, like one big dysfunctional family. Forums also give a sense of community. I myself visit forums for the insight, advice, encouragement, rumors, and sometimes, the flame-wars/drama. Not all that different than someone participating in family-systems or public discourse.

I myself have a few times 'announced' my departure on previous forums where I was established. Even though I never personally met anyone outside of the internet, they did give me a sense of 'community.' Regarding this situation, factoring in that vehicles are often part of someone's identity, the individual perception of loss of 'community' could magnify. Therefore, feeling the need to say good-bye is not to hard understand IMO.

Before you get all over me about being a hater, relax, I loved my Maverick… mostly. I thought I’d post a last post for those who want to know how their trucks will hold value, and why I made the move for any who care.
First things first youll be happy to know that if you take care of your maverick itll hold value (for the first term of depreciation at least) very well. For reference I had a:
22’ xlt
Eco awd
Tow package
Katzkin interior

Normally you cant flip a 2 year old high milage car for positive equity, but the Maverick is incredibly popular and still somewhat supply constrained… its also gone through some hefty price increases in 2 years. hence the following

(all these numbers will be canadian… sorry)
I paid 31k sticker price in may 2022. 2 years and 60000km later (60000km is the factory warranty limit in canada) they gave me 29000. In the private market my truck is selling for low 30s it seems.

reasons for the trade:
The tldr is i wanted to get my wife a new car. (2024 redesigned kia sorento) i was going to trade in her old car (2020 sorento). However the mav was worth a bit more (4000 i think… same amount of positive equity but higher tax savings) and the more i thought about it… despite the mav being 2 years newer and how much i did like that little thing… kia is just so much better at designing interiors than ford is that my wife’s old car is just plain nicer to drive around as a commuter than the maverick. Dont get me wrong. I think the maverick is the best lower budget interior ford makes. But lets be honest… despite having made vehicles for 100 years… ford has not figured out the interior fit and finish thing. Its the material choices, styling and placement of the important dash items, the cost of ā€˜luxury’ items that many other cars come standard with or at least in a mid trim (leather and heating packages), and the friggin infotainment system. Do not get me started on ford sych system or whatever they call that garbage lol anyways. I dont wanna hate on the maverick. Ive landed on this: i loved having the maverick. It was a well designed, super fun little trucklette that can do many things reasonably well. However… i did not enjoy having it a ford. And the ford stuff made it less good at what we all do with most of our cars 99% of the time. Which is driving on regular roads at regular speeds with little or nothing in the truck bed. If thats all im doing, sorry y’all, ill take a budget kia over a budget ford, any day of the week.
I want a Maverick and I know it's not a luxury car but the interior looks far cheaper in quality than my 2016 VW Golf. . I can live with the more budget materials but I am a bit concerned about Ford quality

Yep. Just remember you get some pretty good tax benefits from trading in a 30k vehicle towards your new car. For me private wqsnt worth the effort. But maybe for you itll be different
What tax benefits do you get?

I agree on material choices. Considering another Ford in my future, and have started looking at Explorers for shits and giggles. What's with the beige/tan/light interiors? That would stay clean for 30 seconds in real life usage. Give me a dark(er) interior ANY DAY, or I'm going to have to spend a small fortune in seat covers.

Anyone on this forum own an Explorer? What did you think of it?
Remember when the Explorer was a compact pickup......the A.R.E. Cap almost makes the Mav an SUV and keeps the fumes from the genset and extra gasoline out of the cab. Cute cat on your avatar.

I also think the 2025 refresh will dampen 2022-2024 values.

I think it's the same reason that they use the forum to post "Hey, I finally got an email, or a delivery".... join the "brotherhood", I spoze. Shucks, some people now share pictures of their meals. But, I do appreciate his reasoning to weigh in along with the glowing newbie reports. And, the economics of the transaction are a possible eye opener to many.

I have a 2013 Kia Soul + with almost 298k miles on it. I also have a 2022 Kia Seltos. I love my Kia's too. What I do not understand about Ford is them using Supply Chain Issues that is keeping us from Building your Ford Maverick...Seriously??? Your are Ford Motor Company and you cannot figure out how to fix this??? INSANE!!!!!!!!!!!!

You got to do what you want to do. I was raised with ford vehicles. So driving the maverick truck is going to take time and time I'll have till the Lord gets me. But growing up my pops had different years of ford trucks. The 1st was a black F100 hump hood truck with 6cyl flat top engine. This is the kind you can short the starter coil to get it running if one wanted too. The others was 1974 creme with orange strips, and 1987 purple like ford.
So driving the maverick truck is going to take time to get use to due to the technology, and the fun of having one. I'm so looking forward to owning my own truck. I'm currently driving a 2012 chevy sonic sedan lt, it was hit by a bigger vehicle that I was forced to take a total but salvaged title on it. After spending time getting it fixed and road worthy and almost looking like it never got hit. It will be my trade in but I'll be using this for the taxes and putting some savings down as down payment so I can finance it thru a bank. But to each his own experience and enjoyment. Hope you have no regrets about giving up your truck.

You don't need to explain yourself why you got rid of your Maverick, I'm a (or was) Ford fan boy but let's face it the Maverick seems to be turning out to be cheap no good quality, way too many issues people are reporting and mine sounded like (just only a couple of days a purchase) like a 30 year old car instead of a new car experience, so many rattles, which I finally fixed most of it myself since Ford service department was useless, which I figured they would be in fine nothing and I was proven right. The only noise is still in the dash but that's from a voided area in the middle that you can't put anything underneath to brace it, and some noise going on with the HVAC duct system, you can hear it making noises just sitting still, popping and cracking noises beyond me. Just have to live with it till I get rid of this thing just like you did. I just worry about the value this thing will have since I also got screwed by the dealer with their markup, and honestly I didn't mind that markup because I really liked the truck but I didn't think it's going to be a piece of junk or I would have never bought it especially with the markup. I really don't want another payment so I have to wait a year or two to save enough to pay off the next vehicle just like I did this maverick and saved from paying all the interest.
Ford definitely left a bad taste with me and it's a shame because I really like the new Ranger but not going to get it just in case I have the same experience.

apologize

Calvin,
Thanks for the info.
Knowledge is power. You just passed on quite a bit. How it is used is up to each individual.
