This board reads like a bad amazon review page. Any interested buyer who reads this board should be scared off. I've got 2 23 hybrids and I'm getting that "I need to dump these" feeling.
I haven't bought a Maverick yet I'm just out here because I'm thinking about getting one. It's kind of scaring me off but I'm trying to keep in mind that usually situations like this you'll hear complaints more than compliments. If you're having lots of problems with your Maverick you're going to find a forum and see if others have the same issue or at least complain. I'm sure there's plenty of people really happy with theirs that don't come out here at all.

I had an event on my way to work last Friday… I’m driving along and get a message all of Sudden that the truck will change to the selected gear once I reach an appropriate speed. I had no accelerator pedal, and the truck would just coast, I was in the center lane of 3 in my direction. Fortunately I was right at a rest area and was able to stop. Unfortunately I got to see the guys at the Ford dealer and pay for a $380 tow (submitted for reimbursement)…

I’m throwing in the towel. I asked f for the dealer to get me an appraisal on it, and they came in high enough to make it worth it for me. My 2022 XLT hybrid is still in the shop waiting on parts and I have a loaner until I get my new (to me) F150 all signed for.

The dealer is great, they do exactly what they should for the customer. But I think Covid killed the training that Ford corporate needed to make their trucks at a high caliber. Maybe not just for them, but also for their tower 2 and 3 suppliers…
My buddy just bought a new to him used 2019 F150. Back at dealer 5 times now. Radio going crazy. Plug in phone doesnt work. GPS built in doesn't work. More issue I cant remember. I think he bought someone elses lemon. I wouldnt have been so quick to jump ship. BUT good luck to you.

Congrats on the F150! I'm cautiously optimistic with my EcoBoost.

There are a some quality issues I was less than happy about. I still need to iron a few out. The dash rattle was a problem, but a windshield strip across the front took care of that for the most part. Recently I've noticed a minor but annoying air leak whoosh around my driver's side window, and have to turn up the music a notch or two to drown it out. That won't do, hopefully some extra stripping will fix it. I'm definitely not impressed with Ford's oversight of the gaping left rear hole!!! WTH? We have actual sloppy winters here, and I am seeing some seepage around that left taillight. It's almost warm enough to see what I can do about that, but more snow is in the forecast for later this week. I will probably start with modding my Mabett mud flap with a flexible cutting board as I saw posted here. I'll look into patching the whole gap later. I also found it frustrating that there's no access to the oil drain and filter without dropping the whole skid plate. Not easily doable for a geezer with a gravel drive. And some little things I've seen like plastic exhaust hangers aren't confidence inspiring.

Still, there's so much I like about the Maverick, I'm sticking with it, hopefully for quite some time. Knock on wood.

That is because people don't jump on the forums to say, "my vehicle didn't have any issues today, it's great!"

Hybrids do have some issues but you can find issues with most vehicles.

There are two thought patterns when it comes to knowing the many ways any device might fail. I favor the latter, as I grew up having a toolbox in the back of my VW, some spare parts, and the old hippie guide to fixing the thing. And I used it a lot. I wish I could remember the name of that old repair guide. It was very counterculture.

The Maverick is a still a great truck. The EB's and Hybrids each have had their own sets of issues but overall I believe they are as solid as anything made post pandemic.

Speaking to an auto parts driver with a hybrid Maverick the other day and he told me it is wonderful, 40K on the clock and counting and no issues. There you go.

If something happens to my truck I will order a new one as long as I do not need to wait a year for it. That will never happen again.

I liked "Zen and the art of motorcycle maintenance". That was a pretty cool book

I just wanted to say that I am one of those hybrid owners who has had 0 problems of any kind (knock on wood) with my truck. Still pretty early on in its life but I'm not particularly worried.

Most people come to this forum when they're looking for answers to problems. So while I'm not saying problems don't exist (they certainly do), I am saying that this forum is not representative of the fleet.

Most of the issues (if I am seeing the responses correctly) are for the Maverick builds during 2022. I haven't seen that many for 2023 and even less for 2024. Remember, this is a forum. And we all pretty much know each other. So when something goes wrong with the Maverick, we just want everyone in here to be aware of it. Go ahead with your purchase. Your Maverick may not have any of the issues we are having.

'23 Hybrid owner here,
-11.5 months old and a bit over 7k miles, mostly city.
-infotainment system sometimes glitches and have to restart the truck (maybe 5 times)
-we had a rattle under the front, dealer replaced passenger strut under warranty- they came and picked it up and dropped it back off at the house when I was at work.
-otherwise 1000% satisfied. Love it!

When my wife and I were newly married (1995) I traded in my 93 Jetta (5spd she couldn't drive it) for a , wait for it, 1995 Dodge Neon Sport so that my wife had a reliable car for her work commute. I inherited her grandpa handmedown (early model Olds 98).. At that point in my life I had already owned 12 cars and had never owned a domestic (Ford, Chrysler, GM) car. So, working in manufacturing and feeling proud of what 'North American Know-How' could do... I decided to give Chrysler a chance on a domestically produced compact car.

We knew within 3 months it was a mistake. That automobile not only broke down frequently, but sometimes in a very scary fashion (like the rear brakes completely locking up when tapping them to disengage the cruise control on an interstate, resulting in a spin). We were young and broke... and counting the days until we were no longer upside down on the thing... Just no confidence that the thing was going to operate correctly and get my wife to her job consistently. Traded In for a super reliable 1996 Honda Civic EX purchased new from Mohawk Honda in Schenectday NY. We had that lovely car for almost 8 years (a friend hit a deer with it in the Adirondack Mountains at high speed and destroyed it).

Sometimes you just know. I wanted America to produce a compact car that I could drive confidently. It wasn't to be. At that point in my life I knew Hondas, Volkswagens, Volvos, and SAABs.... and I went back to the more reliable of the 4.

I know, long story, but fully appreciate you not having confidence in your vehicle... And you need to have that living in the Finger Lakes (I lived in many places in the world, and I consider the Finger Lakes an absolute undiscovered and underestimated gem... Good on you for living there!). My wife and a dear friend, the Reading Room B&B, on Seneca Lake, so many years ago.

I have been a toyota guy for a long time, got my wife a 2017 Avalon and I had to replace the rear struts at 50K, same with my son's on his 2016 Camry at 65K
