I just wanted to say that I am one of those hybrid owners who has had 0 problems of any kind…

I am saying that this forum is not representative of the fleet.
This forum does reflect the fleet. The fleet with Troublesome quirks.

my dealer remoted into my 22 hybrid, it has over 29 codes logged on the day my truck went nuclear. (after a bunch of recalls, but 2 are still outstanding.) no engine, no nothing. Had to limp electric only back into the garage. 20,000KM only and happened just last week.

Jeebus, I’m nearing 20k miles on my ‘22 Hybrid, the only issue I’ve had is that since trying to use that early beta remote access app some guy developed, the truck won’t get out of deep sleep mode no matter how much I drive it… which now I’m thinking has been a blessing in disguise? I haven’t taken it to the dealer for any recalls or other work because I prefer to do things myself, and because some of the “solutions” seemed half-baked. Also because my dealer went out of business and closed like 2 months after I got the truck lol. Counting my blessings after reading all this, and gonna TRY to go back to blissful ignorance…

All cars and car companies have problems but anyone with a even remotely objective point of view knows that over the last 30 years, at least, Toyota's have generally been more reliable than anything made by the so-called Big three which really aren't the big three anymore. The top two car makers on Earth have been VW and Toyota going back and forth for a while.

Nope. Vehicles can and should be able to drive 40,000 miles in a year.
I drove a Honda CRZ hybrid 35k a year for 8 years till I wrecked it. If anything miles like that are usually highway mikes. Not to hard on a car.

I have a 22 XLT with almost 10,000 miles. No issues at all. Have not done any recalls yet either. Overall I am quite happy with it, but monitor the forum for things to look out for. My next oil change is due around end of summer so I will probably have the recalls done at that time. Operating under " if its not broke, don't fix it" mindset for now."

Curious where you got it if you don't mind. I saw the area code so I figure we're not too far apart. I'm in Bucks county

My vehicles see allot of duty in Mexico nowadays... I never get 40k miles out of struts/shocks. :)

Back to my 'Know when to fold them experience' with the Neon...
No, that Neon didn't make it to 10k miles with us.... it's first shop visits for breakdowns were before it was even broken in for transmission issues...
Owned a 2door 5speed Plymouth Neon for years. Always delivered 30mpg and was fun to drive. With over 200k on it, floodwaters took it out.

We own two '23 Hybrids and so far zero issues on either. Hopefully it stays like that. Was a VW person until my first Ford '94 Ford Explorer. It's been nothing but Ford since. I had a Taurus that we put 340k on with very little issues. We sold it to our neighbor for $200.00, he drove it for a few months and then the transmission gave out. He ended up junking it for $300... made a profit. I suspect the transmission went because I didn't drive it for 3 months before selling it.

And you need to have that living in the Finger Lakes (I lived in many places in the world, and I consider the Finger Lakes an absolute undiscovered and underestimated gem... Good on you for living there!). My wife and a dear friend, the Reading Room B&B, on Seneca Lake, so many years ago.
Totally off topic, but beautiful part of New York.. Back 2008 I was traveling from Newburgh to Rochester somewhere by the Finger Lakes (use to know the exact location) somebody decided to pass a semi truck in a double yellow line road. Guess who was going the opposite way with a truck to their left. Some quick reaction we avoided a head on. The person who passed the semi clipped us.

I had an event on my way to work last Friday… I’m driving along and get a message all of Sudden that the truck will change to the selected gear once I reach an appropriate speed. I had no accelerator pedal, and the truck would just coast, I was in the center lane of 3 in my direction. Fortunately I was right at a rest area and was able to stop. Unfortunately I got to see the guys at the Ford dealer and pay for a $380 tow (submitted for reimbursement)…

I’m throwing in the towel. I asked f for the dealer to get me an appraisal on it, and they came in high enough to make it worth it for me. My 2022 XLT hybrid is still in the shop waiting on parts and I have a loaner until I get my new (to me) F150 all signed for.

The dealer is great, they do exactly what they should for the customer. But I think Covid killed the training that Ford corporate needed to make their trucks at a high caliber. Maybe not just for them, but also for their tower 2 and 3 suppliers…
Sorry to hear that. Did you get your appraisal? I just traded in my maverick too. Not for this type of reason. But I’m interested to see what you get for yours. I’ll make a post about mine shortly
