How much extra did you get for your trade-in by detailing it?

I have no idea. It may not have affected my trade but they offered me $31K. That could be a fair market value whether it's been detailed or not.

You know dealers have detail departments, right? Why would you go out of your way to "add value" to your trade in if the value added is for the benefit of the dealer, and not you?

Because I want to make sure the vehicle is presented in the best way possible. Sure, the detailers can take care of it but you and I know damn well they're gonna do a half-assed job so it's better to do it myself so it's done right and just for common decency. So many people leave their vehicles trashed or just don't go the extra mile to make sure that their vehicle is traded in detailed because they figure it won't be theirs anymore so why invest time and effort? Also, they figure since that's what the detailers are for so they can take care of it and it gives them a job to do. To me, that's a bad attitude. Cleaning your vehicle before trading goes a long way, even if I didn't get paid for that time I spent on it. The detailers can find another car to work on, it's not like they're struggling. Getting another nice vehicle in return is the payoff.

It sounds like you're making a lot of assumptions there. At the very least, you should go back to your dealer and demand compensation in the form of a detailer's hourly wage times times how long you spent doing the job, plus materials and rental fees for the use of your driveway space. It just seems strange to me that anyone would care that much about creating value for a company that doesn't even have the "decency" to compensate you for your time and efforts. I mean, I'm not looking to get money off of it and I didn't even have to detail it in the first place. I could've just left it as is and still got the same if not similar value for it. I just let my OCD get the best of me. But it's still rewarding in my mind. I would've felt bad if I gave it to them dirty. Like I've said, I think it goes a long way even if it's for the benefit of the company and not me. It did pay off in the form of a healthy trade-in allowance and having to put very little down out of pocket as a result.

The keypad was not on my list of accessories when building my Maverick on Ford.com. When I pivoted and purchased one off the lot, it came with the keypad and I figured I would never use it. Fast forward to yesterday. The kid has the keyfob and I'm at the truck 10 min earlier than we had planned. In the rain. I have to admit, it was one of those "this is so cool" moments.

I use the keypad all the time, including when the truck is in my drivway and I can get my sunglasses without going back inside the house to get the key.

Or when my wife and I go to 2 different stores and the first one back can get inside. Also great when hiking, jogging, or skiing without worry about a zipper accidentally left open and the key falls out somewhere on the mountain. This video has a KP demo starting at 6:35. Hope this helps!

The stick on Keypad, you can change the battery, I have had these on everyone of my fords, purchased on Amazon and programmed myself, the integrated ones do look better, but I do love the keypad entry. The plus of the stick on key pad is you can stick anywhere on the vehicle. I know people that have placed them on the fuller door and in the back window exc...

Dose anyone else feels cheated as Ford has removed standard features on Lariat maverick models.
I purchased a 2022 Maverick Lariat FX4 and absolutely loved the truck. I liked is so much that l purchased a 23 Maverick Lariat Hybrid, I like the Lariat for all the features that it brings to the truck. I believe that Ford has a great little truck in the Maverick but l really missed the all wheel drive on my Maverick that I decided to order a 24 Lariat FX4 because I loved my first truck so much.
Before I placed my order l read here on Maverick Truck club that Ford was going remove some features on the Lariat model. I was very disappointed that the body color mirrors , heater wipers and the Door Entry Key pad would no longer be on the truck. The Lariat is the Premium Maverick model and should have all these features .Ford offers factory door key pads on multiple lower trip models as standard equipment. THE Door Key Pad has been on Ford and Lincoln vehicles since the 1980 s and No other manufacture offers it. l read that , again here of Maverick Truck Club that Ford had so many complaints about the Keypad that they had decided to offer it as a dealer installed option. I also remember reading years ago that Ford had conducted a focus group to remove the. Key pad but also had so much negative feedback that they scrapped the idea. I saw that Ford offers a wired in key pad for the Explorer , Escape and the Bronco Sport. So l ordered my 2024 Maverick Lariat FX4 with the dealer installed door key pad. (The truck l ordered was $3500 more than my 22 with less features.) This is where my disappointment with Maverick starts . I received my truck and picked my key pad and it was a stick on unit that looks a auto parts add on unit ( a note as well when the battery goes bad you have to replace the whole unit.) If Ford is listening bring back the hard wire door entry key pad , with the Maverick price increase in the last 2 years it should be on the truck. l have had multiple Ford vehicles , my wife has a Hybrid Escape , my F150 XLT has the door key pad. I hope to read here on Maverick Truck Club that Ford is listening to its customers and is bringing back the hard wire door key pad .

I’m feeling the same way,I have a 2023 lariat with missing items that should be standard with the lariat. I suggested in a earlier post that they add reward points to compensate for the missing copilot 360 , Heated wipers etc!! I have been a loyal ford buyer for 48 years,worked with engineers in Dearborn to fix issues and finished top of my class at the training center and Motech. But to no avail I’ve heard nothing back. So I’m just gonna enjoy my truck 🛻
