Well, in some ways I agree they are telling us what to do too much but would you want them to legalize heroin because that's them telling you what you can do? Sell alcohol to 10-year-olds? Allow 12-year-olds to drive? I mean in my experience people are for or against something being legal based on whether or not they agree with it usually. Drive whatever speed you want etc

Point wasn't whether a drug addict gets their drugs. If you're going to go that route saying they get it anyway, then don't have any laws. Because you know people will break them. My point was if you don't want the government telling you what to do then they shouldn't tell you that you can't do that right? So I assume you support gay marriage then? So emissions controls are government overreach? Government shouldn't tell me what to do ? So I can use my suburban yard as a nuclear waste dump?

Personally, I wish that I could drive that old GTO engine that gets 5 mi per gallon and the oil would never run out and I believed that climate change and all that was all just some control thing from the government. But I try to separate my personal preferences from my beliefs regarding science. I feel like a lot of people out here and I'm not going to keep going on with this thread so you'll like that, are the other way. They have a personal preference and then they look for " scientific" evidence to back up what they want to hear.

Bingo, drug addicts get drugs whether legal or not. Why I’m I the authority that gets to decide if another adult can do crack while I sip a beer. Nobody should get that authority, Yes I support gay marriage. I don’t believe the government has a place in that either. It’s based in religion and if you can find a church that will do it. By all means go for it. Government should not have a say.
as for waste dump no you can’t because that infringes on the rights of others around you. See how this works. If I start a fire on my property and it burns down the house next door I’ve now infringed on the rights of someone else and should be held accountable. Same with waste.

Well that lies In the problem. It can’t be proven. Just like anything one needs proof. Because infringing on rights would be criminal you would need to prove beyond a reasonable doubt. That simply can’t be proven. Simply because the scientific community simply doesn’t know. For every experts that says it is you have others that say no.
So that would not be considered infringement unless proved beyond a doubt.
Plus you would still have to prove which one can’t that an ev would be better for the environment.

I was just using another posters word. All laws and regulations are enforced by the government with force implied if you're non compliant. Call the IRS and tell them you won't pay taxes. I don't think an individual should use force. If it's the law that's someone else job

I wish someone could straighten me out on why fossil fuels are bad? Doesn't oil come from Mother Earth. Isn't everything that comes from Mother Earth supposed to be good? Aren't natural products supposed to be good... and good for Mother Earth. At least that is what the tree huggers and green heads have been preaching for years.

Wake up people. I'm an old fart. When I was young they had us all scared for the impending ice age. Then later, global warming. Those didn't arouse enough fear so the term climate change was invented. I have news for you... The climate has been changing on earth since God made it. Nothing to be afraid of. Man has some huge balls if he thinks he can drastically change the climate on earth.

Well it’s the correct word. We have rights they are either infringed upon or not. Now one of the only jobs the government is tasked with doing is making sure that doesn’t happen. So it wouldn’t be an individuals task. Unless we are talking defense of one’s person or property. Then yes you have the right.
This is well documented in laws we have.

Well it’s much more Natural than what’s in batteries. You can drink oil and yes get sick but you more likely will survive, but not with batteries. The correct take is both are bad but to what degree.
You really need to move on from the argument of conspiracy. Because I could pull days of people screaming at the sky about global warming and how ice engines kill. In fact his take is no more or less crazy than yours. He believes oils isn’t an issue. You clearly think it is. What if it’s not what you have been told. Then who’s the conspiracy theorist.
