Do the Ford mudflaps come in contact with the paint and need something to protect it? Specifically, the metal backing clips...

I used Ford Pass points and got the Ford flares. Easy install, robust design, Ford logo and best of all no out of pocket money.

I’m very happy with the Mabbet mudflaps.

Muslogy was the brand I chose. They do not require any additional drilling into the vehicle. They are sturdy and look great. I was concerned about them looking dorky. Very pleased. Highly recommended. Purchased on Amazon..

I'm lazy and wishing for side-by-side pics of the options:
Mabette
Musology
Ford
RockBlox
Weathertech

Wish in one hand and sh!t in the other and watch which one fills up first...

I guess, maybe. Not sure why people are concerned about this - are you planning on removing the mud flaps? How or why would you care if they come into contact with a painted surface. Here's a couple of pics of the front right mud flap. I put flares on the rear (without paint protection!), so those mud flaps don't touch paint, but the flares most certainly do.
Not trying to be snarky, but I have removed the lower portion of the active shutter system to install a Roadmaster base plate so I can tow the Mav behind my MH. So whatever bit of rubbing the mud flaps or flares might do is insignificant compared to rock chips and road tar I will inevitably pick up towing the Mav around the country.

Be as snarky as you'd like we're used to it but you are in the minority not caring about chips and mud flaps exposing bare metal.
I suppose NM or maybe SW residents in general aren't as concerned with what happens to bare metal in much of the USA.

In a helpful note anyone with this type flap could space them away from the paint slightly with a handful of non metallic washers and some longer hardware.
Have you considered full width mud flaps on your RV to protect your disposable toad

Thanks for the photos...yeah, keeping debris and moisture out of that cavity is a real plus...but wow, they're really high-end in the price department for mudflaps! Ouch.
LOL not at all high end. Slightly more expensive than other options, and demonstrably better.

The Ford OEM mudflaps for the Bronco are $500 a pair. That's right, the front are $500 and the rear are another $500.

I really like the Rokokz but this kind of BS just rubs me the wrong way. They’re basically saying “we’ll send it to you but if our shipper loses it or destroys is, that’s your problem”. It’s just a cash grab for a few extra dollars. That’s the kind of stuff a reputable business should build into their cost rather than nickel and diming their customers.

That's surprising. Very.

They can. I installed them and noticed one was contacting the paint due to not having the rough edges filed off at the factory. Less than 2 minutes with a file and the rough edge is gone and no longer touches the paint. If you do buy them, take them off and check to see if there are any rough unfinished edges on the side that is close to the point and file it off if it does.

Looked under my Maverick this morning (1 1/2 years old now), other than a little dirt and mud on the plastic trim there is no build up of anything on the rear driver underside from using the Ford flaps. Maybe an issue for people who drive on gravel roads a lot, or don't have concrete/paved driveways?

Sorry, I probably should have been more clear. I am concerned about the metal backing clips to which the screws attach. I'll edit my post.

The difference between a <$50 mudflap set and a >$145 mudflap set is a tad more than slight...and I'm sure that for $500/pair, they'd better be capable of converting my 'rick into the world's first flying pickup truck! I mean, c'mon...they're just mudflaps.

yes it is, I bought over a year ago and didn't get that, times change but that number is outlandish.
Maybe they don't want the hassle of shipping international and added this 'protection' to international orders only? We have the longest uncontested border between two countries...but this is not very 'neighbourly'.

Thanks for this. I will go with Mabbett on new Mav. Other Mav has Muslogy which I am happy with. Just wanting to try ones that don't need ppf installed.
