Before installation of the Ford OEM mud flaps , I spoke to the dealer about the potential paint damage. As you can see in the photo, the installed with a small gap from the fend

That small gap will, very quickly, collect dirt and grit that will act like sandpaper on your paint. It won't be visible until the resulting rust stains start to show.

Installed these on my 2025 Lariat purchased using my reward points - did you purchase these or the “gator“ mud flaps with the blue oval badge? Installation was a little more involved being they have the anti-flutter brackets but great fit

I installed mine a couple days ago. We had rain, and mud, the sides of my Mav stayed clean.
Easy install, they fit great and no sign of any contact that will rub or scratch paint.

Should take about four or five years to become a problem.
I’ll trade up about then.
I took a second look, I see no gap on mine so I guess I’ll rub off paint with the ford flaps.
Again not worried.
My Four year old Bronco sports mud flaps never rubbed paint.

I have also been keeping an eye on the gap between the mud flaps and the fender, and I have not seen any accumulation of grit. On the other hand, the rocks and debris that were thrown up from the tires are no longer scuffing my Maverick's side panels.

I have black on black rokbloks as well. A bit more money but they’re worth. I’m happy with my purchase for sure. Look the nicest out of all aswell
