When the prices were lower, NO ONE was giving up an order. Now that they've risen some, the Maverick isn't such an amazingly awesome purchase. Still funny that they're USED same price as new some places- once that finally corrects then it will be interesting.

Non-refundable deposit. The solution.
Legalities withstanding, I would agree to a non-refundable deposit if Ford and the dealer both committed to a guaranteed delivery date.

Not a win for me. More orders means more time for my order and I DO WANT MINE.
Coming up on 17 months since I placed my order for an Atlas Blue Metallic, '23, 2.0 turbo, AWD. tow package, cargo cover, full sized spare and keyless entry. This is the truck I need & want. It fits my needs perfectly. Just wish it would get here!

Since I have ordered my Maverick XL AWD blue. I have 3 different dealerships that I contacted me saying we have a Maverick someone ordered and would I be interested. Because they don't want it. I wish one would have been closer to what I want but no. I think we are going to see a lot more of people that ordered waited to long and now don't want.
Same thing here, I ordered an XLT w/Luxury package in July 2023 (built in Dec 2023, Del in Jan, 2024. The toy truck has proven to be exactly what I wanted and the fuel mileage around town has been above 25 mpg, with most recent tank running at over 30 MPG
Ford Maverick Order and don't buy m
Ford Maverick Order and don't buy mpg2

Long time to wait but this was a "nice to have second car" rather than I need a car now. While waiting for the truck to be built, my dealership called and said they had a Lariat w luxury package that I test drove but the package had a bunch of options I could not find a need for. And it was $5500 more than the one I ordered. The dealer ended up selling to someone later than day with an additional $5000 markup - I guess that if you really want one price is not an obstacle. They were not taking deposits because when someone does not purchase one that was ordered they were able to sell quickly - except for the Desert Tan Maverick Tremor that is still on the lot three weeks after it arrived and the buyer did not take possession.

Thats how I got mine. Drove to another state but that's fine, helped with the break in process. I still get emails from ford about my other two orders scheduled to be built in March lol.

It's an issue even without delays, on ordered vehicles. One most buyers are impulse buyers and after pondering on it change their mind. Another is things come up, lost jobs, moving, pregnancy's, health issues etc.. to name a few. Regarding the Maverick it's a win win situation for a dealership. They can't get them fast enough. Yes they are calling orders one as a courtesy more for selling two for one. They sell the one they have in stock and they sell the one on order. Both sales help the dealership both financially but also increasing allocation. The more they sell the more they are allocated, it's a win win situation. Unless they sit for months but that's not even close to what's happening with the Maverick. Read some of the reviews more importantly read some of these threads where they have several Maverick's in the family or others trading or selling their previous Maverick and getting a new model year or one with different options or configurations. It's a problem they are glad to have from a Dealerships view. Well maybe it's not a problem after all?
Yep. I ordered one but I work in film and tv and the strikes meant no new Maverick for me. I really wanted it but life happens. We'll live with our 23 XLT(which we love - thus the 2nd order) instead of a new Lariet 😭 Maybe we'll be lucky and get an AWD hybrid in the near future.

My local dealerships took MONTHS to get back to me when I had initially inquired about placing an order. I have no interest in trying to contact them. What they show online is not what they are getting or have in stock either, and I live too far to just casually stroll around on a Sunday browsing lots unfortunately. But I highly doubt up here if there was a Tremor that it would sit for more than a couple days. At this point though, I'm happy with my '22 and don't want to give up the small features like the display on the HVAC or the wiper heaters etc etc. Plus, who knows... maybe the refresh will offer something I like? I doubt it though. I'm already not fond of the vertical screen possibility.

And I've compromised previously on my Tacoma after ordering one and then having them call me saying there was one coming in a different color (all the options were the same) and it just never felt right. There was always the thought that I should have stuck with my original order. Even just for the color I wanted. I knew why I wanted it and every time I washed that vehicle something was in the back of my mind saying "should have just gotten the one that hides dirt better, dummy".

I ordered in 22 for a 23 that got rolled over but I put a backup order in 6/23 just in case the original didn’t get built. Original built in Nov delivered in dec. Backup is being built this week delivery march probably. I’ll consider selling outright or trading in the original if I get enough value out of it.

I was almost tricked to pay deposit. The salesman asked me to pay deposit before place order. I denied. Then still ok to place order. They are so greedy!

They told me initially that it was a 500.00 deposit but never asked for it. When I later contacted this salesman he states "you weren't one of the ones that put down a deposit were you?" (should of said yeah where's my 500.00?).

Really don't think lol was the best answer for ordering 2 vehicles that your not going to buy when they come in. People like you are why orders take so long for people who really want one like me.

hmmm
I don't see it that way, because just how I got mine( searching online for dealerships that have one in stock on the lot that someone didn't want) I will be helping out someone else the same way by having one that's available and not "scheduled for build" in a few months.
I do hope you are searching online as well. Sorry you have to wait but still in all just keep an eye out online.
good luck
