See prior post re: First roadtrip to AZ Mtns in cold weather. I was starting to think the Mav was a big mistake when the check engine light came on during the road trip. NOT SO. L H Miller service was super; the issue was the poor installation of the light in my ARE shell. There was a loose connection which was a short. LHM even did the update to fix the turn signal recall without being asked. If I had used Horne I would still be waiting and would have been without the Mav for at least 5 days. Where as LHM had the Mav for only 28 hrs. and I got a next day appointment.

Good to hear, I figured it was a false alarm. I had a similar situation, learning curve. Early on, I took it in for a blown fuse that was my 12v accessory at fault. That why I'm making minimal changes to Maverick.

You're right about the ARE wires though, they could easily get damaged. Gonna put it on my list to shore up those wires inside the cap.

Was the short inside the shell or elsewhere?

It was where the connection was made for the shell light (not brake lights) in the engine comp where one would jump the Mav. A nut was missing.
