Also sad my 2024 does not have a keypad. I use the one on my F150 constantly. If I buy this wireless unit, I would want it mounted vertically on the door pillar, rebadging the numbers to read vertically as well.

The 22 and 23 door mounted keypad is actually curved to accommodate the curvature of the pillar, there's no recess. It's literally just a cutout in the door. I pulled a keypad off of a pick n pull salvage yard XLT along with the door wiring harness when I was thinking about adding it (actually cutting into the door pillar). I abandoned the idea and just went with the wireless pad which I mounted on the backside of the fuel door. Of course I believe that would only work on an ecoboost since I think the hybrid fuel door locks so the tank can be pressurized. When I picked up my Maverick last week in Nogales AZ USA the dealer had programmed the key pad, but did not stick it on the B-Pillar as I requested.... He commented the key pad is looking for a perfectly flat surface to adhere to and the B-Pillar has a slight arc to it... So they didn't want to install it without me seeing it...
They were correct.. installed on the B-Pillar, there will be a very slight gap at the top and the bottom of the keypad.. The fear is the keypad could get airborne at high speeds. This explains why the Maverick's with the key pad used to have an indented section in the B-Pillar to accept it...
I dont' want to place it directly on the paint on the door, so I'm still deciding where to place it (I didn't have the dealer place it as I wanted to think about it). It does not fit on the back side of the gas cover as some have claimed (unless you hack it up)....
I might put it on the C-Pillar well above the bed, behind the passenger door on the driver's side. It seems to sit a bit more flush there and the steel ahead of it is about 1/8" of an inch high so the wind should blow over it without creating allot of lifting force..

Considered that for a moment.. then I remembered.. DUH, I'm going to be ordering an ARE MX Cap soon (the tonneau cover was a $140 stopgap)... So no go... but if I weren't going to install a cap, that would be the absolutely perfect place! How about on the back window?

Dealership unfortunatelyFirst post! I ordered the Keyless Entry Keypad for my 2024 XLT and it arrived. Am I able to program it myself or do I need to bring it to the dealer and pay for an install? If you know how to program it please let me know. Thanks!
I'm pretty much in lazy mode today after coating every non visible square inch of my Maverick in Surface Shield yesterday so I don't feel like walking out to my building's parking garage but I mounted it like in the photo below. It hits the fuel filler neck when I close it and sometimes I have to press the door closed a few times to get it to latch but it fits. Thanks Jimmy for correcting my wrong assumptions.
Regarding mounting the wirless keypad on the back of the fuel door.. It didn't intefere with anything and still closes tightly? Interesting, I felt like there wasn't enough clearance around the keypad... I'll give it another look as that is a great place to put it...
I placed mine on my XL and put it near the mirror on the drivers door.First post! I ordered the Keyless Entry Keypad for my 2024 XLT and it arrived. Good to know. That's what I thought as well. My wife will probably drive the Maverick more than myself, so that would be something popping up on my Honey-Do-List repeatedly (Honey, the gas door on the truck won't close again, can you fix it?...)..I'm pretty much in lazy mode today after coating every non visible square inch of my Maverick in Surface Shield yesterday so I don't feel like walking out to my building's parking garage but I mounted it like in the photo below. But don't do that on your Hybrid, the gas door locks and you can't open it without unlocking the truck.I'm pretty much in lazy mode today after coating every non visible square inch of my Maverick in Surface Shield yesterday so I don't feel like walking out to my building's parking garage but I mounted it like in the photo below.
