Maverick stuck at Gateway Yard, IL

My Maverick delivery is stuck at Gateway Yard, which is a Union Pacific hump yard outside of St Louis. It is scheduled to be brought back to the BNSF Kansas City car depot for truck transport to Granger Ford. My guess is the train is handing off other deliveries to Union Pacific and that is causing the delay. Anyone else have this experience?

I live in St. Louis and my Mav was stuck in the same yard for 2 weeks. I asked my dealer if I could go get it, no bueno.

For me it was waiting on enough vehicles to show up in the yard for a single car hauler to move them all in one go.

If yours is going from St. Louis to KC and then on truck your experience will be much different than mine.

Mine sat there for a few days just to go to KC to get unloaded then trucked back to St Louis.

Mine was in KC for over a month. I live across the river from STL. in Illinois. I kept trying to find out why it wasn't delivered and one reason was a shortage of truck drivers to deliver it. I finally received it on 7-31-23, ordered it on 9-19-22.

Mine was in KC for over a month...

Mine sat in the KC rail yard for 3+ weeks before finally being put on a truck to the dealer in NW Ark.

Mine sitting at Kansas yard since 12/19/23 as per Ford customer service, only 2 1/2 hours away from Granger by truck.

My Maverick is now at the BNSF car yard in Kansas City. They should transport it with my truck to Granger hopefully soon.

Looks like the Gateway Yard is used to break up large trains. It is one of the largest hump train yards in the USA. They say it can process 2,000 cars a day. But you still have to wait for another train to assemble for transport to the next destination.

Ok jeff_J, maybe we will meet @ Granger. When it’s ready I’ll have to fly in from Long Island ,NY. On the way home my first stop will be to visit a cousin in Rochester, MN.

Hey Jeff, good news; just got off the phone with Ford customer service, was told my Mav was delivered to Granger yesterday, PTL! Hopefully yours was too. Will wait for a call from Granger, don’t expect to pick it up until next weekend.

Enjoy Rochester. Home of the world famous Mayo Clinic. Up the road from me about 70 miles or so.
Nice city, but can have some brutal winters.

Yes, mine was held up there with a bad wheel on the railcar that was taking it eventually to Jacksonville, FL.
Only held up 24 hours. Good luck
