Edgy posts drive clicks. Everyone that reads this post is going to click on the article. To look at all the other cars on the list Mazda 6, Honda Accord, and yeah they are mundane. One of the slides recommended putting a hellcat engine in a Pacifica. That wouldn't be mundane, psychotic...
Interesting looking vehicle. The gas extender is an interesting option. I look forward to reading the reviews when it comes out. But I love my Mav and I'm 9 years out before I start looking at a new car. I doubt I'll be able to afford this vehicle but EV is in my future and a gas backup may...
I get your point. But with vehicles having as big as rear ends as they do there's a lot of blind space right behind the bumper. 4-5 years ago in my Ford Focus that camera stopped me from backing over a kid wondering around my street. I wrote Ford asking them to thank the engineering team who...
Yesterday my 24 Hybrid Maverick lost its damn mind. On the way to work the check engine light came on. "Detected an air leak into the engine that should not be present". Okay that's weird but whatever; mpg is as good as ever. have an appointment to get that looked at Sep 3. While Ford has...
Off topic with the alternator costs but had a voltage control module in the alt go bad on my wife's Ford Freestyle. Replacing it involved unbolting the engine and rotating it. Decided to take the nearly $2k repair (ford dealership) and apply it as a down payment on a mini van. Floored it is...
The article is just dollars and cents math. Which is correct. The Mav is a bad purchase when compared against MSRP. That same article doesn't take into account of value. If you divide value by dollar that Mav in my opinion would be the top of the list.
My hybrid does the same. I think it is related to what user AVC said about it being related to keeping the battery pack cool. It only happens to me during the summer and during times of decent charging or discharging e.g. going up or down a decent hill.
My initial thought would be to build a wood frame that the cylinder could slide into. Frame could use the cut outs in the bed to help with the bottom sliding front back side to side. Straps could keep the top from going anywhere.
That's some impressive mileage. That is a lot of pad left too. My 2014 Ford Focus is still on the factory pads with 130,000 miles. It's mostly highway driving and I'm pretty gentle on breaks.
Not sure what has changed with break pads and material science but I'll take it.
I know the file you're speaking of on Thingiverse. I did the same and redesigned my own. https://www.printables.com/model/561054-ford-maverick-bed-cover
Have fun designing and printing!
I live in St. Louis and my Mav was stuck in the same yard for 2 weeks. I asked my dealer if I could go get it, no bueno.
For me it was waiting on enough vehicles to show up in the yard for a single car hauler to move them all in one go.
If yours is going from St. Louis to KC and then on...
From the owners manual.
Water If you must drive though deep water, drive slowly. The water could limit traction or brake capability. See Driving Through Shallow Water (page 280). When driving though water, determine the depth and avoid water higher than the center of the wheel. Once through...
I'm not an expert on this so I will defer to those more knowledgeable.
Mile remaining is just an estimate based upon usage. Usually around town I get about 45 mpg. Last weekend I drove about 700 miles on the highway and got 35 mpg. At the start of both of those tanks of fuel it gave me a...
Your tabs breaking issue is a direction of printing issue. Your tabs are built upon layer lines. When you apply pressure to the tab it will snap rather than bend. My recommendation would be to do a two part print. The plate prints in the same direction you currently have it and make some...
To each their own. People have their reasons for buying things. If we can't agree on the best flavor of ice cream (its chocolate btw) then we won't agree on this.
I drive 60 miles a day commute on combo highway and local roads. My car at the time was a 2014 Ford Focus that was giving me...
A friend gave me some gentle ribbing for having a "baby truck". Friend has a Dodge 1500. The ribbing ended quickly when I told her I was getting 50 mpg.
